My lower back got so inflamed, I did not attempt set 4.
My low back started firing up and becoming a spastic piece of shit – so I stopped. My desire to do Smolov was fine, but it was probably a little stupid considering I am going to a PT for my lower back. I need to focus on getting my back better. I know I can continue to do the pull/push/squat and PT, but given how my back started become an inflamed piece of shit, I think smolov is a bit too much for me, right now.
First, I found that the high volume is hard, but manageable. That assumes, however, that you are close to 100% health, and my back is not 100% (didn’t I just get a low back x-ray like three weeks ago?). Since it often feels fine, I mistake that for it actually being fine. The high volume, however, and my back are not going to work. It sucks, but I am not going to risk injury on this program. This shows me once again that I need to focus hard on my PT program.

WTF – I have not missed 405 in a long time. Today fucking sucked. I was late getting to the gym for a bunch of bullshit reasons. My time at the gym sucked ass. I guess I am a bit over-trained at the moment; I squatted heavy 2x last week (plus my stupid back issues). I have not missed 405 in a while, but today I could not pull at all. Maybe it is my back – Maybe is that I have been lifting heavy for several weeks straight…. I don’t know…… It sucks and I am pissed 9 hours later…
Also – I bought some beta alanine and caffeine anhydrous from Anabolic Pro. I think those motherfuckers sold me sugar pills. The last three times I went to the gym I have increased my intake of Beta Alanine (3 grams, 5 grams, 7 grams). I get no response. I think that maybe I am a non-responded to BA. But today, I also tried their caffeine pills – nothing. I know what a caffeine stack feels like, but I don’t respond to their pills.
Anyway – I am having a buddy of mine (who is a chemist) test their shit. If it comes back as sugar + water, then I better get my damn money back.
Has anyone dealt with Anabolic Pro? If not, who should I buy supplements online from……

BA sometimes takes a few weeks to work. Which is why t-nation recommends people to buy two containers. Which lead them to also give away a third free container and two free creatine containers. there is a supposedly a synergistic effect between the two. maybe give that a whirl. also, do you take your BA with anything? for example, simple carbs?
congrats on your dissertation defense. i forget, this is for your PhD? So you're Dr. Rageahol?

Thanks OP -bahahahhaha I am close to being a professor... Also, I do my best to scare undergrads.
Did you respond to BA at all?; I feel nothing. I'll keep trying it, but I am skeptical because I also think their caffeine is sugar.
If I get it tested and it comes back as a placebo, I am going to be bit pissed.

I like your potential for rage.
The BA I can't really tell yet, and I don't think I will ever really be able to say for sure. But after not doing any cardio for... a long long time, I started running and shit this week. I finished the Coan deadlift programme 2 weeks ago and have not done much other than a day of hiking since then.
But I ran 5KM the other day, which is a lot for me. Did some bodyweight stuff, including burpees two days ago, and today ran 6*400m sprints, and didn't even vurp once! And it was hot out. Normally, I can't do that kind of shit without a few weeks prep. So was it the BA? Or was it the strength base I had from the Coan, and the fact I have actually been running a few times this year? I don't know. It did feel unnaturally good to run though. Next week I'll be starting the MadCow 5*5, and adding creatine into the mix. So we'll see how that goes.
As a note, if Japanese customs officials see fit to allow my large order of piracetam and lecithin into the country, I'll be popping pills like mad. Any experience with the nootropics?
