I wanted to DL heavy today, but my body was having none of it. I should have expected that pulling after heavy ME squats on Monday was going to be a disaster. I’m a fucking tard.

Back Raises:

BW + 45 x 8 (weight behind head)
BW + 45 x 8
BW + 45 x 8

Decline Sit Ups:

BW + 25 x 6 (weight behind head)
BW + 25 x 6
BW + 25 x 6
BW + 25 x 6

Today sucked ass. I should have done some DE squats like I was supposed to…..

I did 15 total reps of 475 yesterday.

Despite the fact that it is boring and I hate it, I think doing some low intensity/low impact cardio on your off days makes a big difference in recovery.

Word to that. Probably the biggest difference maker in my training as of late has been doing that consistently.

I saw - I think you could rep my max DL 10+ times in one set. Solid work.

I finished with some external rotations against bands

I joined a new gym today. The Univ. gym’s hours are erratic over the summer, which makes it an unreliable place to train. AS oly lifter told me to check out Eagles Gym. It’s a local gym and it does not advertise. It is a total dump and completely awesome.. This gym is designed for powerlifters, strongman and bodybuilders. It has everything - good bars, thick bars, chains, platforms, a monolift, sleds, tires, stones, logs, etc. DBs go over 200 pounds. A year membership was only $250 – so I signed up. Apparently – they have a strongman crew, which means I hopefully won't look like a complete jackass at Fatty's contest.

Eagle Gyms is on 2551 Woodson Rd , Overland , MO. Let me know if you ever want to go.

No. I’ll work out of both. I’ll probably spend more time at Eagles during the summer. In the Fall, I’m TAing and teaching a class – so I’ll be pretty busy and at school a lot. It will be easier to use the Univ gym. Plus, I need to give you shit.

Recovery:

20 minutes on teh treadmill – 3.0-3.5 mph at 2-3 degree incline.

I’m going to start doing recovery treadmill work 2-3 a week for about 30 minutes.

I also helped set up a lifting program for a buddy who is a novice.
