Thanks for the insight. Incidentally, I might actually have to travel for 5 days for an 1 hour interview. Then a few more days for another few interviews, and that would be it. The rest of the time would be spent on the beach and trying to avoid food poisoning. I'm putting together my proposal now, but thoughts of doubt are holding me back and actually making me waste time in consideration.

When I missed the second attempt at 235, I yelled “fuck” loudly. When I turned around, all the bench/curl monkeys and old ladies were staring at me.
I push press better when I am angry. When I am pissed, I explode through the lift much more effectively.

I have been doing mostly 5x5 on bench. I am going to start working in some singles, doubles and triples. My problem is off the chest. It is more of a technique problem than a strength issue. I need to get used to lifting explosively off the chest with heaver weight.

Squat Day
I am trying to stagger the intensity of my ME squats and deads because I am having trouble going 90-95% 1rm Friday’s squats and then same for Monday’s deads. I would describe this squat day as a “medium” intensity; each rep was hard, but I felt I had a lot left in me. This also worked well because I did some complexes yesterday and my entire body is sore, especially my lower back. I need to be careful because I am coming of a back injury.

Thanks Mschatz - I like box squats. I think I am going to use them every other squat workout. Plus, I am trying to get ready for a PR squat at the end of the month for the Graedy’s video and my church video.

Not really sure. Last time I maxed out was April and I did 385 without too much trouble. I plan on doing 405 and if that goes up pretty easy, I will try 425/430ish. I don't think I will have a spotter so I have to be careful – plus, I have been a little cautious with my stupid back (but it is pretty solid right now). Next week, I am going try to do 365 for reps. Depending on how that goes, I should have a better idea of where my 1rm will stand.

Is the idea to hit a 45 degree angle, hence 12" for you?

Thanks man – I think that is correct. I do an athletic squat and I try to get a full range of motion. I am trying to get the box depth that is similar to bottom my back squats.
