The best lifter at our gym snatches 152.5kg and clean & jerks 190kg at 94kg bodyweight, apparently a few months ago he did a clean grip overhead squat on 160kg for kicks, crazy.

To combine the two current fads on this forum, I did a 20 rep overhead squat with 60kg's today ;-)

Everything was fine up till 16 or so when I started to get lots of pain in the back of my head. I completed the squats then had to sit for 2-3 minutes while my head just ached and ached.

You oly lifters with your goddam metric system -- I have to get out my calculator every time you post.

Nice work, though, on the 20 rep OH's. You truly are a glutton for punishment.

How was your breathing when your head started to hurt? I've had an instance or two while lifting where I felt a sudden pop, then a bad headache. After reading a lot on it, I came to the conclusion that my breathing pattern was falling apart when I really started to strain. Apparently, the pressure in your head builds up such that the interiors of the blood vessels get "scraped", so to speak. Of course, this diagnosis was the result of mass Googling and I really have no idea what I'm talking about, but it seemed to make sense.

Hmm I think you're onto something with the breathing, what you're saying sounds a lot like what happened to me. It's the first time I've gone over 8 reps since I was 15, and usually I don't even do that (except with my huge 70kg, yes that's 154lbs) benchpresses. Everything was fine upto the 16th rep or so.

20 rep OH squat! You could have torn the fabric of time and space with a reckless move like that.

Ok, then. This will be my next quest for you, Barut. After you have done 20 picture perfect reps with 330 lbs your next quest will be 20x225 lbs on the overheadsquat.
I hope you are already heading for the gym

that's a crazy weight. my best ever in a clean grip overhead squat was 315lbs/143kg and I had to use everything I had to get the weight up! 160 "for kicks" is amazing!
