Sorry for holdin out on ya, I did promise details to follow: so my bad...

Wednesday April 30th
7:00pm
MMA
warm up jog, jumpin jacks, skip rope 2 min each
1 rd shadow boxing
1 rd heavy bag
Sparring "thank god for headgear, er thank Liu for his headgear ;)"
4 rds 3min 30 sec break in between
I did say that I didn't get the whoopin' I deserved I only mean I wasn't knocked out or knocked down, but boy did I get a beatin'!
My opponent may not be the most technical, and neither was I, However the terms wrecking-machine and tough describe best what I ran into:
by the way I am about to "borrow" a format from your log Liu...
Things I did well
-take a shot or multiple shots and keep workin'
-use a strong snappy jab to keep distance or double up and circle to get out bad moments...
-and from there I was pretty good at returnin' the favor
-I also feel good about my auto punch mode: all I needed was to take a good shot or feel trapped and my punches would come together much better in combinations and snap
things I did bad at
-took too many shots! head movement, foot work, stop waiting to be hit before you snap those combos together!
-Tentativeness to use what I practice like combos or counters that I actually have worked in training. I think I just kinda go in their to fight and that would be ok if I'd only use what I am workin' on to see how it really works or not. I don't really go with game plans too much and I think I should at least try to think what I want to work on in sparring instead of just going to fight and see what happens...
-suckin too much air, hackin up nasty shit almost got this session stopped LOL! I actually feel better afterwards due so much of that shit commin out of my lungs after the sparrin'
was kinda dead at the end no real stretchin or cool down except some shadow boxin while talking.
Overall I feel I saw some things here I had not fully noticed before like going in with a goal in mind for the sparring and the tentativeness to just open up a little and use what I've learned. Gonna think on those things for the next brawl er sparrin' ;)

Thursday May 1st
12 noon
Weights explosive and balance work (did one legged leg press, one legged hack squats, reg leg press and hack squats, leg ext and curls etc., stayed away from super heavy weights for this session so went for stamina etc.)
this part sucked for some reason:
1 mile run
wouldv'e done the 1.5 or 2miler but I didn't plan this day out too well, I guess the run could help the legs recover a bit, but did nothing for fight cardio I suppose.

Yo brudda.

My man Ak who also trains MMA at Couture's place told me about this organization down there. He said they offered him $1,000 and $2,000 to fight. You should probably get in touch with them, since you're local it might be a good idea.

Real Fighting Championships.

Now, if Edson is Fighting for them, then chances are they are offering good money and are credible. The Berto Family is no stranger to both sides of the Fight Game. Edson's Brother of course being Andre.

Monday and Tuesday 12th & 13th
just did quick runs in evening (1mile) and stretching

Overall: I have been doing fairly well. I feel improvement in a lot of areas. I am getting to the point where, although I know there are many pro and amatuer fighters out there that are more skilled, quicker, and/or stronger, I still am improving and I have a clearer picture of what I need to work on and what I am good at naturally. So in the end I know I can do this and I am thankful for the journey and path I am on.

Today wednesday, I feel really energetic. I am in a great mood and feel content. I am gonna try and and turn that happy feeling into a mean one later today and train till I puke LOL! Gonna turn content into unsatisfied and light a fire this day!

Wednesday May 14th
well as I said I was feeling rather good this day... that all ended at about 12:30 half way into my first attempt at killing this body this day.
12:00 noon
Explosive weight circuit:
I am sure I did not invent this but no one showed it to me so for me I kind of did.
squat/calf raise/arm curl/dead lift (I did these together as one flowing exercise till as close to failure as possible. I would do one set with 50 lb DBs and active rest with shadow boxing and skip rope and then the next set with the Babell with 45's -yeah I cheated the curls here a little;) and then repeat after active rest) don't know how many sets I did but it really started to suck early on! I just tried to push thru till about 15 to 1:00pm. I am really happy with how quick and snappy I feel from doing these types of workouts every week.

7pm
more... I was not looking forward to sprints and core work, but I needed to do these.
I wanna guess that they are 50 yard sprints but not sure, any way 10 of them all out and yes I heaved. in between sprints I was jogging back to the start line and then immediately go again.
notes- I had wanted to go hit the boxing or kickboxing training and tear it up that way with all my enthusiasm but didn't work out so I had to put in this work.

You know when you start to get good and advance your game enough that you start to look proficient and talented at it? It feels awesome right? Yeah, but then when the new of that wears off you start to "suck" again LOL! well that is where I am at right now. I just had two weeks of the "I'm a baddass" feeling and was really impressing myself in sparring and rolling- and now the last few days have been crappy. Just another plateau I gotta break from! Can't wait to get thru this one...
