oats, my good sir (strength, bjj) comments welcome

Hi, thanks for reading my log

I am 27 and live in Cleveland, Ohio. I just graduated from law school and took the Ohio Bar Exam. I'm now looking for full time employment as a lolyer. I like to work out and train in BJJ. For a few years I followed a BB-type routine and certainly got stronger but ran into the problems that those routines produce. I got fat as fuck at the end of college and the following year, but have lost a decent amount of weight since. I am 5'10" and was up to 248; these days I am more like 210. I would really like to hit 190, but that's not as important to me since I am not disgusting anymore. I have good gas for a big man; I have run an LSD of 7 miles before.

normally this is what I do:

Mon - AM: Pull PM: BJJ
Tues - AM: Jog
Weds - AM: Push PM: BJJ
Thurs - Jog
Fri - AM: Squat
Sat - either jog, BJJ open mats or nurse a hangover

I also do GHR, reverse hypers and abs where I have the time and motivation.

Current PRs

Squat 345
Dead 475- sept 09
Bench 290

Mile - 7:40

Clean and Jerk - 110kg
Snatch - 85kg

GOALS

Squat 425
Dead 495
Bench 335

Mile 6:30

Snatch 205
Clean and Jerk 255

Feel free to comment, even if it's just to make fun of me

Flat BB Bench

135x10
185x6x3
225x6
185x6

Push Press - as much leg/hip drive as necessary
155x5x5

workout was short today, i had to be "on call" because the wife had a shitload of dental work done and she was just going to call when it was over, sadly that call came mid-workout, but at least i got the heavy lifting done first.

decent day diet-wise, had some oatmeal and granola in the mornings, a chicken breast sandwich for lunch mid-afternoon snack of some turkey pepperoni and pasta for dinner

Your deadlift is pretty low compared to your squat. Do you feel there's any reason for it?

I think it may be that back when I was lifting BB-style, i was squatting. Not real heavy, probably not ATG, but the movement was there. On the other hand, I have only been deadlifting for about 5 months and probably am just not as good at it.

If you can think of any other reason, you might be right -- perhaps I was just having a crappy day when I went for the DL max.

One of these days (months) I am going to get some digital video equipment and post form checks, I don't think there's any real substitute for that

I c. It's probably since your new to deadlifting, but with a 345 squat I would expect a deadlift of at least 405, but more realistically on the way to 500. Probably just need some more core work and it'll shoot right up.

yeah - i've been making consistent gains for several months so i'm really not worried about it. As long as it's moving in the right direction

Hang Clean
135x5
155x3x3

Hang Snatch
95x3x3

Squat
195x5x3
215x6x2

Front Squat
95x5x3
105x5x2

Cardio - did 2 miles LSD in an attempt to minimize soreness from leg workout. I find that doing an easy jog after squatting or even the next day before the soreness REALLY sets in can go a long way

Diet has been shitty last couple days, but I'm sure that's the case for everyone, Didnt make it to see my folks because the wife's root canal got infected so we spent today getting antibiotics and pain pills. She says percocet makes her feel like she's made out of silly putty. I may have to try that.
