Weight Training

Probably the last day i have to work with kat on his form so i spent most of the time focusing on the clean and press. Starting work tomorrow which i am excited and scared about all at the same, i guess i'm growing up.

MMA Class

"Free" day today, got to work on whatever we wanted. So in a random order which may not have been the random order i perfromed them.

-Tried to grab a ribbon on the ceiling, guessing close to 11 feet, almost had this

-Stretching and neck bridges, it's amazing how many people in the class do them too? for some reason they all did them after me...

-Drop steps, just working on really exploding quickly and traveling a good distance

-Brazil kick, coming along nicely, getting a good strike on "bob" when he is set up above 6'. Foot placement seems to be correct aswell which is good

- Round house to the body, just working on creating some solid power

-Jab, left hook counter. Working this cause my hook sucks the big one, also doing the leaping left hook

-Cinder block conditioning, pushups jumpin to cinders on the outside, then to the inside. Did some one arm clean and press and snatches with the block then procedded to rip my shorts when it caught an edge.

Standard, I do the exact same thing with fireworks. In fact, 5 weeks ago, me and my friends got the bright idea to buy some artillery fireworks and set them off in our friends yard, then later we made a sparkler bomb and threw it in one of our most hated adults driveway, catching her gravel on fire.

Didn't feel like conventional deads today so i went ala sumo. Feeling a little tired today cause i now have to train at night and get up at 5:30 AM which isn't that early but alot more then i am used to. Also did some gripper work sitting in traffic, can almost get the 2 with the left now.

Clean and press with cinder blocks brings a warm and fuzzy feeling to my tummy.
I didn't quite follow the push ups part.
To the outside: are you setting up TWO cinder blocks to each side of you, and then pushing up on to them, left and right?
To the inside: One cinder block and kind of pushing up over it from side to side?

Yeah the pushups were between two blocks so i would do a close grip pushups and jump up onto the blocks and do a widegrip pushup on them then jump back down, rinse and repeat

The inside was the opposite with the closegrip on the block and the outside on the floor, just be sure to not get sloppy or the block is going to give you some free dental work.

Nothing too great today, feeling a little drained at the gym so i didn't really push myself that hard on the weights. Almost had a 45lb plate flip, just couldn't hang on to it though.

Weight Training

Standard is having a good fucking day (may turn great, will have to see). I sat basically the entire day at work thinking "man i can't wait to squat", not an uncommon thought to have mind you but i really wanted to keep my progression up. So after what felt like forever i get home and stuff my face, pop a couple caffeine pills and off to the gym. Now this is where it gets crazy, my "progression" is to hit my front squat 1RM for 8 sets of 3. All i was thinking warming up is that i wanted to hit this, but it seemed crazy. I kicked my ass and hit all of them, pounded out some SLDL and after 40 mins it was done and with literally shaking legs i walked home from the gym. Now all i think about is the DOMS that i know are going to kick my ass and how great this feels.
