These things are great, cost a couple bucks in materials and took less than an hour to fabricate, cut, drill and tap, that was all

What if you made the collars a bit longer, and, instead of centering the bolt, moved it toward one end. Then you could weld a bar/piece of stock/small bolt across the top of the bolt, enabling you to tighten it without tools

just a thought since you said you still had one to make....

That was a thought of mine actually, i may make another pair for the other handle the same as i have and then the 3rd pair for the barbell with the welded flat stock idea. I need to make the 3rd pair have an attatchment to add my 1/2" chain to it. Right now i have to loop it into the spring collars which is not the best set up
