what it is yo?
I'm an amateur boxer who is somewhat out of commission. I had tymanoplasty surgery to repair my ear drum a week ago. I went back to the doc today and he said I could workout, but can't spar for the rest of the month.
I'm not too enthusiastic of a runner, but since I can't spar I really plan on starting to run more. Now before my surgery I could last forever. I was all into lots of
sports-specific conditioning and sparred hard with everyone in the gym.
However, I wasnt really faithful with my roadwork and strength training. So, I'm taking this opportunity to rededicate myself to that aspect of training and carry it over when I start to spar again. Since I can't spar for the rest of the month I don't plan on fighting again until late April or early May depending on how I look when I start back sparring.
I also decided to run in a 5k race on April 30th. I've never done anything like this before and I'm really just doing it for fun and to have an incentive to keep up with my roadwork.
Today was my first day back, didn't do all too much but pushed myself pretty hard nonetheless.
