mustangs training log [strength]

I am starting this as my training log, i pretty much am consistent at going to the gym during the week unless school work piles up then I try to miss a running day rather than a work day. Used to be a legit mid distance track athlete now turned to weightlifting. And soon, am planning on taking up either muay thai / bjj / or both so I can put my strength and conditioning to use.

Are you planning on doing anything grip specific?

Did you run the 800? I'm mid-distance turned weightlifting as well, but I wasn't very good (best 800 ~2:03). Maybe it's because I weigh 30lb more than you and can squat / deadlift over 100 less

klotz- im not sure what i can do that would be grip specific, any suggestions?
trinitron- i ran the 400 outdoors and 600 indoors, although i didnt run outdoor senior year b/c of my foot but indoors i ran a 1:24 600 and a 50 400, but then again i weighed ~145-150 when i was running, now im weighing in at 165 so im definitly not in the same shape. When I ran as well I prob could only bench 155, and squatted 225 a few reps, i didnt take weightlifting serious back then which I wish I would have

If you're working on improving your deadlift grip then you can hold onto the heaviest DBs in your gym as long as you can. Walk/run around to get some fitness out of it too.

Other things you can do are towel pullups, plate pinches, sledgehammer levering, get some quality grippers (like CoC), etc.

Also, if you haven't already, get chalk.

Just start using it, and if anyone calls you out on it, then stop.
