It's wider than it should be for someone who uses oly shoes and high bar position.

Indeed. I think it's also wide for somebody who wants carryover to oly. You don't recover the snatch/clean in that position. You're pretty upright in the squat, so it might not matter, but still...

Rippetoe would tell me my squat is fine, aside from the high bar position. I hadn't squatted very heavy for months, so getting my footing right was difficult. I wasn't going to waste energy fixing where I had planted them so I just went with it.

I'll be testing a new max with a closer stance soon

If you had scrolled up a bit, you would have seen that I agreed with donut that my squat was too wide and had already established that I will be changing that in the future.

When I hit 405 last november I did it in chucks and with a stance as wide as this past max. another reason I probably had a wider one this time. But my goal now is to hit 405 as deep as I did 355.

You said you knew "something felt off". Your stance is twice as wide as it would be with regular high bar squats, not just a bit off. In any case, I feel you are a bit tense this morning, so I'll leave you alone.

Yes I did say that. My closer stance is maybe 4 inches further in for each foot. That's a little bit when I'm quickly planting my feet, ready to squat.

I just don't get why you'd bring it up again after it was clearly dealt with mere minutes after I posted the video.
