Friday, October 19th
Left my boxing gloves at the club... *mutter*... but, I'm pretty sore anyways so I decided on a light recovery/conditioning workout
RESTORATION/CONDITIONING
light warm-up
4 rounds all-out shadowboxing (fought as close to fight-pace as I could push. In spite of the soreness I felt surprisingly quick and was able to maintain a very sharp intensity for the duration. Maybe it's 'cause the pounds are coming off and I'm getting back to my old self)
3 rounds wall-sits (active rest between rounds, darting in and out, working on ignoring the leg fatigue to practice and review some crisp footwork drills)
burpee pyramid 10,8,8,6,6,12 (50 total, about 5 seconds between each "set" to bounce around a bit and shake out the legs)
100 crunches
Feel refreshed, UFC tomorrow = no training, but Sunday will most likely be some lifting and conditioning.

Yeah you were getting pretty massive there, didn't you have to cut to 155lbs

Yeah I have to stop weights cause I'm getting so hyooge, just pec dec and curls so I don't get bulky and slow. I run a lot so my legs are muscular enough

Monday October 23rd
AM - Roadwork
3-mile run
PM - MMA Class Striking
1.5 hour class, Standard went into detail about it, I was paired up with him so basically the same stuff. Kind of a lame class, not getting much from this anymore other than impractical combinations and flimsy "advanced" stuff, I guess to try and keep the new guys interested
Tuesday October 24th
AM - Conditioning
The Magic 50
-DB snatch x 5 per arm
-DB swing x 5 per arm
-Burpees x 10
-rest 30 seconds, repeat 5x
PM - Judo
Got suited up in a loaner Gi and gave 'er for about a 2 hour class.
Warmed up with some line drills down the mats similar to MMA stuff; shrimping down the mats, breakfalls, arms-only drags, etc
Played "dodgeball" for 5-minutes with a bunch of balls going, if you hit someone they had to do 5 push-ups, if you missed your throw, you had to do 5 sit-ups
Worked on a variety of throws and breakfalls, the names of which escape me right now. Plan on doing this frequently so these updates will suck significantly less as I progress
Rotated 30-second rolling intervals, no rest, 6-minute round:
-Wasn't familiar with too many hold-downs so I mainly tried to keep top position and go for submissions
-Got a RNC and an armbar on this cocky-ass blue belt. The guy wouldn't tap to the armbar, but had his face all scrunched up in pain, so I let it go, and he said "I couldn't tap, you had both my arms trapped", but I mean it's common sense just to say "tap" at that point instead of just trying to ride it out... Sensai was right there, witnessed the whole thing, I apologized but he said it wasn't my fault at all. Turns out he was a Golden Gloves boxer so we bullshitted for a bit at the end of class, good guy
Sorry for the shitty update, school is stretching me pretty thin at the moment, can't lurk nearly as much as I'd like to here
Judo was pretty sweet, I'd like to pursue it a bit. Fits in nicely, too with boxing on mon/wed and judo on tues/thurs (plus boxing work in the AM on judo days)

Yeah, I'm with you there. We have to in amateur boxing when the ref calls us up, they don't send us back to our corners until we do.. I just never look at the guy when I do it, I'm not a staredown-bully I just like to stay focused
