the thai is top notch. if you're looking for mitt/pad/bag work and sparring, it's a great gym. we have two different classes. one for beginners thats much more focus mitts and an advanced class with sparring and thai pads and such.

AM

Prowler
Warmed up with some lighter pushes
8x 40m push (260#) / 40m free-sprint

PM

A few 100m sprints with my new trainees (got the position as S&C coach for the boy's varsity sports teams).

Trying to teach teenage boys to squat is a nightmare.

the job is rough. all the head coaches sat and watched my practice today and when we finished, told me everything i did wrong. they told me that i was training the players like they were football players and we lifted too many weights.

i thought i was hired to turn these boys into athletes. apparently they just want somebody to facilitate their same old run, run, run, and be skinny routine.

What sport is it?

Maybe you need to bust out some of your GPP skills to show these ignorant coaches what lifting weights actually does for you.

basketball. i did have them do about 70 burpees today in sets of 10 but apparently they think basketball requires a 4-5 mile run for practice, not any intense conditioning. i think we could both afford to go a bit the other way.

the thing that's freaking me out is that they think my s&c practice needs to go for 4 hours. 2 hours of running and 2 hours of lifting. that's a bad idea on so many levels.

Jiu-Jitsu
  1. Armbar
  2. Omoplata from failed armbar
  3. Triangle from failed omoplata
  1. anaconda
  2. peruvian necktie from failed anaconda

Rolling
Rolled with a bunch of guys who were wrestlers (and fairly good ones at that). Swept them from half guard and submitted them all with my kimura from north/south. Got an armbar from my guard which was nice.
