Saturday, May 17th, 2008

Rolling

Just wrestled today. Taught a few things to some new guys, but overall a pretty easy day training wise. Weight is 199 after practice. Rest days always help my body rest up burn off some weight.

Also wore gi pants for nogi wrestling. Going to wear the gi pants again on nogi Thursday and see if they up the percentage of my guard game.

I got a question ive just rescently started training only a few months and i was wondering how long i should wait until my first amature fight, sorry if this didnt have much to do with your training log but you seem like you know what your doing

I'd say at least 1-2 years. I've trained about 1.75 years and I'm still not ready to fight. I could probably win a few early against poor competition, but I'm still not ready to fight and really dedicate my life to it.

Future workout idea

3 station workout.


3-5 rounds

40# DB swings at one end
Push prowler to other end
Ring pushups or dips
Push prowler back to start

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Lunch GPP

3x circuit
25x pushups
50x squats
5x pullup
25x leg lift

Jiu-Jitsu (gi)

Conditioning: ~300 squats, 3x2min. core holds, 150 pushups, and 200 leg up crunches

Attacking the back: grab lapel across throad and step over. roll over shoulder and land in bow/arrow choke. if grip breaks, go immediately to armbar.

Note: In gi, instead of trying to pass, grab the back of the pants and flip the guy over and attack his back.

Rolling

Positional sparring. Did well defending and scrambling. I feel very strong and fast.

Jiu-Jitsu (gi)
Warmup: 500 crunches, some yoga

Control side mount to knee on belly

Rolling

5x4min. rounds back to back. Felt real strong and my jiu-jitsu feels excellent. Very excited for the tournament.


Weigh-in Friday and Competition Saturday.

Note: If you're into grappling and want a great dvd, but arte suave 1 and 2. best purchase i've ever made as far as dvds go.
