Jiu-Jitsu (nogi)


Positional Sparring:
6x1min. opponent in my guard
6x1min. in opponent's guard
5x1min. on opponent's back
5x1min. opponent on my back

I love positional sparring.

Rolling

Wrestled with the usual suspects but felt really strong and fast tonight. Submitted a good deal of the people I rolled with but really should've wrestled more than I did.





Just remembered exactly how much i DESPISE the taste of bcaas. yuck.

Jiu-Jitsu (gi)

Some other white belt tried to teach class tonight because Miguel was sparring. He was teaching everything wrong and forgetting a TON of key details. If this happens again, I'm going to call him out on it... for the meantime I just made comments to the other people under my breath and then walked around and corrected people who were doing it wrong.

Rolling

Positional sparring:
6x3min. rounds in various positions

Rolled with a really strong kid who sorta had his way with me. I gassed really fast tonight during free rolling and am fairly disappointed in myself. I really need to start working sweeps more in gi jiu-jitsu and not be so dependent on being as slick as I am in nogi

Re-posting this here so I don't have to recompile everything again or scroll back through pages.

Conditioning ideas for workouts and finishers (if you guys can think of some that i've forgotten, let me know and i'll add them in)

3 rounds:
10x 135# Front Squat
25x Jumping Pullups
PR: 2:12

BW Deadlift in 5min
PR: 72

1k row
PR: 3:19

2k row
PR: 7:15

30-25-20-15-10 x 20#MB Squats / jumping pull-ups
PR: 4:02


21-15-9 reps of:
225# Deadlift
24" box jump
2x bw dip
PR: 12:11


7 rounds:
• 15 med. ball slams (10#)
• 15 pushups
• 15 deadlifts (135#)
PR: 10:00

Max rounds in 20min:
5x pull-ups
10x pushups
15x squats
PR: 18 rounds

21-18-15-12- and 9 rep rounds of (5 rounds, 75 total reps of each):
• Deadlift (95#)
• Hang power clean (95#)
• Front squat (95#)
• Push Press (95#)

Damn you are pretty strong, nice work. I did not see much of Ross's stuff in the list, and my new favorite is 100 snatch challenge, awesome workout.

I didn't read the post at first and thought you did all of this in a row, HAHA!!

Additional ideas:
Any of Ross's stuff (Magic 50 etc). Or and of the GPP workouts (I like #1 and the burpee intervals for Finishers)

Also
  • 10 Shoulders (approx 70lbs)
  • 10 Burpees
  • 10 Slams (15-10# med ball)
5-10 rounds (5 as a finisher, 10 for a whole workout)
  • 5 Finger Pushups
  • 5 knuckle Pushups
  • 15 Squats
  • 20 Chinnies
5 Rounds

Rolling

Wrestled with a few guys, including some other top white belts. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get to roll with our blues and purples.

Had a lot of success with standing collar chokes to takedowns tonight. Worth a try as far as gi goes. Wasn't able to land any of the takedowns that 'Rey' Diogo showed us, but still tried my darndest. Hands are FRIED from grip fighting.


Notes: Missed technique due to work, but got there in time to roll.
