Jiu-Jitsu (gi)
- Guard pass
- Side mount
- North-south
- kimura grip
- lockdown on head and arm
- kimura>armbar>triangle
I TAUGHT:
From Side Mount:
- Pop up to knee on chest
- pin far arm to your shoulder using head/neck
- lift opponent up on side
- making sure their other arm is between your legs, push face down and step over
- pinch knees and keep leg on their face HEAVY
- attempt armbar (choice of arms)
Notes: I love teaching. Marshall, one of our best purple belts, taught class tonight. He let me teach the armbar.. I am a teacher by trade and being able to teach jiu-jitsu is a dream come true... now we just gotta find a way to get paid for it.
Rolling:
Rolled with a purple belt who I was able to keep up with a bit and managed to do well escaping mount and him taking my back (by using technique) but wasn't able to mount any real attacks.. also rolled with some white belts but I was gassed for the first time in a while. Don't think I've been overtraining, just haven't been doing any conditioning whatsoever. Time to step it up.
This is just here because I didn't feel like making a thread about it and as a reminder to myself.

This rule of thumb is also true with soy.
Whole, unprocessed soy is just a food. It's not a political agenda. It's not a public health crisis. It's not a way of life. It's not a medicine. And it's not a panacea.
It's one food. One of a few thousand foods people can include in their diets. It's nothing more.
So, as the title of this article hints at, we want people to re-freakin-lax when it comes to soy. Moderate doses of whole-food soy proteins really are no big deal.

How big are you now? Are you back up to your pre-Arnold strength?

I'm fairly sure that I'm stronger than I was before the arnold. Before the arnold I was benching 230 and DLing 410 for 1RM and I'm sure I can beat that now.
My weight is steady around 205-207.

Kickboxing Sparring
8x3min. rounds - did well overall, Miguel body-punched my soul. Remember that getting hit doesn't hurt unless you are in their power range and out of your own. Conditioning felt like garbage. Maybe drinking my milk protein isolate for breakfast before jiu-jitsu and then drinking wms/whey during the workout is causing problems... same thing last night.
Jiu-Jitsu (nogi)
Arm drag from guard: - head control
- snake out
- put first butterfly hook in
- arm drag
- grab lat
- either jump to take back with double underhooks or pull them over on top of you
- if they turn in to you, move to mount with arm triangle

Haha TD, when i was like a three stripe whitebelt or something, i got to teach the class the pendulum sweep because i was really proficient at it.
Haven't got to teach teh whole class again since then, although i do get to help people who are having their very first class.
I too want to get into teaching jiujitsu for a living. It's the dream man!
My first step is going to be to volunteer to help teach the kids classes.
