Jiu-Jitsu (gi)
Technical side mount escape
- snake, put near side elbow in
- put forearm on opponent's face, turn face away toward feet
- snake out keeping arm on O's neck and push on hips
- slip knee back in and push opponent's face away
- replace guard or attempt triangle
Technical mount escape - turn on side
- trap leg
- pull leg in with your legs
- knee elbow escape ending in half guard
- push O's head away and replace guard or attempt triangle
Rolling
Rolled with some big guys with no problems. Also wrestled in front of the class and tapped both guys with kimuras. I really need to continue working on my sweeps from guard. I have a decent top game but my takedowns aren't good enough to enforce it in tournaments. Continue working bottom game or make takedowns better.
Notes: Very happy with how I've been wrestling lately. Going to keep stepping it up. I'm more focused on getting my technique down, especially getting out of side mount and mount. If I'm not afraid of getting my guard passed, my guard game will increase dramatically.

I feel the same way. I like my top game, but i can't put anyone there in a tourney. Thus the pursuit of a lower weight class. I dont want to be a walking twig though, that would suck.

^Careful. I've worked myself into a rut several time before by going for PR deads two weeks in a row.
