Good luck with the cut, man. Are you drinking any dandelion tea?

i used dandelion root last time as a mild diuretic. I decided to test my body's response to uva ursi (bearberry; a bit stronger diuretic) last summer with good results. I've been taking uva ursi since sunday. Coupled with drinking a lot of water and following the cutting guide in 'grappler's guide to nutrition' (Berardi), I've been going to the bathroom a lot, but hopefully the water will continue to come out even after I stop taking it in on Thursday or Friday.

GPP

3 rounds:
10x 135# Front Squat
25x Jumping Pullups

Goal: 2:15
Time: 2:12

1k row for time
Goal: 3:19
Time:3:23

Notes: pr on the first one, but rowing sucked. kept having to readjust the damper mid-row. If I hadn't done that, I would've hit a PR on the row as well. Rowing sprints are one of the most mentally tough things I have ever done. Well, row sprints and any 'max reps in 20min.' gpp. Also, Jitsu tonight.

Jiu-Jitsu (nogi):

From guard:
  • Climb guard
  • Inside Kimura/Shoulder lock
  • Partner pulls arm out>triangle
  • Partner defends by pulling arm back across>armbar
  • Partner defends armbar>Sweep (great explanation of sweep http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4_cHG7z-tU)

Rolling:

Rolled with as many good guys as there to roll with. Felt good from the guard, but need to work on jumping guard and not being afraid to land hard.

nope, but I know that our fighters use crossfit principles for conditioning (such as fight gone bad). I doubt they all do crossfit stuff as much as I do though.

Honestly, for variety, using Ross and CrossFit has made conditioning fun again. Love hitting PRs and pushing myself.

Anything labelled GPP or Strength (or orange in color) is done outside of class on my own time (either before work or after work on a night when my fiance and I can go to the gym together)

Ah, gotcha. You probably explained that earlier in your log, I just didn't catch it.

Love that Fight Gone Bad, that's a killer.
