Strength:
  • DB Snatch (8x50, 5x60, 5x70, 4x80, 2x90).. I want 100 within a month or two.
  • Pullups (8xBW, 6x10, 4x25, 5x10)
  • BB Rows (10x115, 8x134, 10x115)

Gotta work on DB Snatch form. I am not catching it in a squat. I am basically doing a power snatch and catching it directly overhead.

Beginner Kickboxing
Warmup:
3 rounds of skipping and shadowboxing,
50 lunges holding 15lb. medicine ball
50 leg lifts holding medicine ball overhead
40 medicine ball pushups

Focus Mitts:
  1. 1-mid kick
  2. 1-2-mid kick
  3. 1-2-3-mid kick
  4. 1-2-3-2-mid kick
  5. 1-2-3-1-1-mid kick.. jab out and if they pursue into the jabs or just outside, throw kick

Jiu-Jitsu (Gi)

**Finally back at jitsu... felt amazing. gotta buy a new gi and, more importantly, a belt because mine is MIA.

Elevator Sweep:
  1. Trap left arm
  2. Open guard and stretch out opponent's right leg
  3. Slip in left butterfly
  4. Suck in opponent's left arm so they can't base
  5. Underhook their right arm and reach over while lifting with their leg
  6. Make sure NOT to land in half guard with a lazy sweep

Triangle / Omoplata setup:
  1. Trap right arm
  2. Push opposite bicep
  3. Hip escape
  4. Grab opposite wrist
  5. Bring left leg to hip and right over back
  6. Skip foot over for reverse triangle or bring leg over back over face and sit up for omoplata

Rolling:

Rolled with a lot of the newer guys and felt great. I need to start rolling with Mando, Juan, and Miguel and get put in my place. I did nail the technique of the day from guard and actually got so excited i yelled out 'technique of the day!' like a douche. Overall a great night, need to work on my guard more and more. Love the elevator sweep.

I've had Atama, Koral, and Bold gis. Can't go wrong with Koral.

yeah, thing is I'm looking for something in the lower price range, and in blue. Koral is worth the money you spend, but a bit pricey.

Hahah yelling "technique of the day" is sweet. We have one guy who screams "GO! GO! GOGOPLATA!" whenever he's trying to sink one... he never has haha

Next time I hit an elevator sweep, I think I'll yell something like "going up!"

and go go gogoplata is only cool if they yell it as a reference to inspector gadget or to the tune of "go go power rangers"

Strength
  • Squats (5x185, 5x205, 5x205, 5x225, 5x245)
  • Front Squats (8x135, 6x155, 6x185)
  • Box Jumps (2x10 on 24" box)
  • 200x Consecutive rope turns (getting easier and easier)
  • Finisher: Tabata Row - 2.1k, 146 cal (previous max was 2.05k / 139cal on 7/3/07 for reference).. PR!!

Notes: It was really nice not going for a 1RM tonight like I seem to every other workout. Just getting a lot of reps in will benefit me greatly. Also, PR on the Tabata Row.. not too shabby.
