Tuesday June 16th
Bodyweight 90.8kg
Worst workout ever. My knee needs some rest. I will not squat for a whole month, and may see a physiotherapist about it after exams finish in 2 weeks. Dissapointed in this entirely.
5/3/1 - Cycle 3 - Wave 1 SQUAT (100kg) <--- lowered it down to 100 as I was struggling at 115kg as the working weight.
5*Bar
5*40kg
5*50kg
3*60kg
-----
5*65kg
5*75kg
6*85kg pathetic. I just had no 'oomph' getting up. I videotaped it, might put it up later. Form was fine, just had no drive, no energy, nothing. Don't know what to say. I haven't been sleeping very well lately, stress of Uni/women, other stuff going on, so this is just dismal.
--------
Skipped assistance work.
My diet hasn't been that insane. I just cleaned it up and removed alot of grainy carbs. So i havent been starving myself by any means. So it's definitely other factors contributing to my 105*10+whatever squat to this garbage at 85kg. Going to rest it for a month. I will continue to deadlift, and see if that has any problems. I'd hope not.
Curls
3*10*30kg (15kg DB's)
WEIGHTED INCLINE SITUPS
3*10*+15kg
1*16*+15kg
1*14*+15kg
Done for the day, fucking dismal workout. Stupid knee. Ice and rest for a month I think. And continue to work on my deads. I will go to a 3 day split mon/wed/fri after next week once exams are done.

update: both of my knees have been very sore today, I don't know if the winter has taken it's toll on them, or if I have to do some more warmup for them in future (I did 5 minutes on a C2 Rower so...)
dunno, but they ache when I walk this afternoon/evening.

Yeh fuck knees my right one plays up sometimes.
Just think about it, theres probably thousands of douchebags who have perfect healthy joints and leverages for lifting but theyre probably in some gutter shooting heroin and we're busting our balls jumping through all these hoops just to squat 4 plates.

hahaha vince. You make me laugh.
I don't know what is wrong with my squat lately. I guess the weather/lack of sleep/everything. Dunno. I've gotten like 10-12 hours in the last 2 days and have a very important exam tommorow so.

Dw about it Fozzy, we all have those times where our squats just go to shit. A few months ago I had a period of like a month where my squat would do nothing but go backwards and my knees felt like shit and my form felt off. Unfortunately I don't remember how it got fixed, maybe I went to the chiropractor? (one of my legs like like 6mm shorter than the other and it puts my pelvis out). I'm sure your squat will shoot back up in a week or two.
Also Breezer, don't you mean eccentric? I don't know anyone who can do the concentric part of a 1rm lift "too quickly". Also if that's what you do mean, I agree, you could have brought the bar down slightly slower or slightly more controlled, other than that and the elbows it looked good. I have the same sticking point and when I fail there I think my elbows flare too, so it could just be because of that.

I'm realisticly thinking of just taking a cycle off from squatting to be honest. And going to a 3 day split while I do it (Bench/Dead/Press). 4 days is intense on my body, and I made all my good gains on 3x a week cycle. 4 is good for fat loss but it hammers me down and I think pushing my legs as much as I had been wasnt good. The knee I had surgery on is very sore tonight.
Cheers for the bench thoughts.

Yeh, I liked my old 3 day split, mine was a push/pull/squat tho, although sometimes it became 4 days, with 2 push, one day benching and the other pressing.
I've just started squatting or deading everyday now with sheiko, feels good so far, no massive amounts of leg pain, just achyness all the time (wow that spelling looks horribly fucked up, I think its right though?)
Knee surgery, everyone I've met who's had it (like one guy at uni lol) are a pussy about it and whinge when I ask if they squat or why they don't squat properly, they even said it didn't hurt them when they tried to squat.. I don't know how long ago they had it though, maybe it wasn't long ago and they're still scared to hurt it.

I like squats, but if my knees need a rest they do. I'll go see a physio for sure after my last exam next wednesday. Get some second oppinions because somethings going on in them, maybe over strained something.
