I actually went through my log and checked, and 3 singles @ 195 was the most weight I did on the deadlift the last time I was lifting (pre-injury), thats why I changed it.

I'll start my lifting next week. Did anyone have an example of the high volume -moderate intensity approach i should take for the initial weeks?

I kinda like team love. Maori, I'm going to convert your PRs to Lbs (x2.2) for the sake of the contest. I'm so stoked about how stacked our team is.

Thenerdking already laying his wisdom on us. I definitely feel like I need to do more singles, but theres no way my bones can handle doing 10 singles at 90%. Maybe it has something to do with my first deadlift being 14 months ago and 160 pounds less. I would love to work up til I'm able to do that, though.

Right now my routine is basically squatting every monday and thurs, except every other thursday I'll deadlift. Every deadlift session will switch between a day with 5-10 heavy singles and a day with 5-10 sets of sub-maximal weight (50-60% range for 10 or so reps, mostly for form and grip work)

This probably wont last though being we're in a deadlift contest. I think once I hit 405 squat I'll start deadlifting more.

I wanted to give a small disclaimer before I start pasting my workouts. I am in the process of buying a house at the moment. My current home gym setup does not have a squat rack or power rack. Other than that, I'm fully set. The reason I tell you this is because you won't see back squats or good mornings in my workout until the end of the competition. I have no way of having heavy weight on my back and unloading it. My real estate purchase has me moving in around Thanksgiving so I plan to have a squat rack/power rack by Xmas.
I also plan on putting on a little weight. I've weighed 170 lbs for quite some time now. I figure if I get up to 185 lbs (increase body weight by 8.8%), I should definitely be deadlifting 440 lbs easily (increase deadlift of 8.8%). Of course, I plan to demolish that and pull at least 475 lbs!

Thanks TNK, I'll give that a shot today. I don't think I'll try quite that much weight though, lol. That was pretty impressive.

Edit: referring to the good mornings video, not trying that much weight.

Checking in. Currently in the process of killing myself via Smolov. For me, bigger back squat = bigger deadlift. After Smolov, I'll start Sheiko 29, which is more or less a deadlift specialization program. Squats, Pulls, Goodmornings.

Now, where's the fucking fancy avs?

Ciscokid1024's log - weight loss & strength training

Current DL PR is 435. I hope to pull 500 by the end of the comp.
I have been doing mostly conditioning since the end of the Squat comp so I will start lifting again next week.
