Thx guys. I am very pleased with the way things develop myself.

Today was just plain hard work in the weightroom. I thought I had a great session ahead. But my form was shit. And my strength was shit too. Don't know why. Just a bad day.

- CII

- Pullups don't wanna talk about it- just too bad

- Frontsquat 5x95kg/5x92,5/4x92,5 [bar slided down forward]/2x92,5kg [to make up for the failure]/5x85kg/4x85kg [got lightheaded]/2x85kg[more punishment] = 2250kg (4960lbs) in 20 mins [counted the fuck up sets as 5 reps and didn't count the punish sets]

- OHP strict 2x3x65/3x3x62,5kg = 952,5kg in 15 mins

- legraise

I actually frontsquatted my 3 RM for 5 solid reps. But everything just didn't feel right. No groove today.
Hard, grinded work like said before.
I now have gone through one cycle in the T3. So next session will show what kind of progress I made.

- CII 500m in 1:29.6 [1 sec PR]/Lots of trying out different settings

- Cleans lots of reps with 65kg (143lbs) [the hip pop was getting decent towards the end of the session. But the catch was still complete shit.]

- Overheadwalks through the weightroom with the 65kg

Was a nice session with my oldest friend. Haven't really trained together for a long time. He focused more on bball and often weighttrained at different times if he trained at all.
He is still stronger in the lowerbody. And due to the lots of bballplaying and his natural talent he is in phenomenal shape cardio and muscular endurance wise.
And that showed:
He rowed the 500m in 1:26.7 - which is phenomenal.

What do you use to do that? A barbell?

Yes. The 65kg were actually too light. We just were too lazy to change the weight.

People in my gym would freak out if I tried to walk around with a 60kg bb. Even my casual plate/db walks get me more weird looks than anything.

So what is a good time for a 500m and 2000m row for a non-rowing person such as myself? What should I shoot for to not suck?

I wouldn't go for the 2000m as a nonrower.
To not suck:
500m in under 1:35
1000m in under 3:15

On the CII it doesn't really matter wether you are a rower or not. Rowing a boat requires a lot of skill. Rowing on the CII does not.
The strongest guys on the CII are not necessarily rowers. Especially on the 500m and 1000m.

So if you consider yourself in decent shape you should be able to row the 500m in under 1:30 and the 1000 in under 3:10.

Graedy proudly presents:

The first two PRs:

- Snatchgrip DL 1x155kg [no chalk, no straps, first time heavy PR]

- DL 1x165kg [DOH, no straps, no chalk, +5kg PR] / 3x5x135kg

- Dips 5x20xbw [surprisingly easy]

- other stuff

My DL, Squat and FS PRs are very weak compared to my other lifts as I have never done them healthy. So I expected those to be the first lifts to be broken.
But this was the first time going for a PR in the DL since I ahd to stop doing them ages ago. With a surgerymarathon and all the other "fine" stuff in between. So considering all this, although weak, 165kg isn't too bad for the beginning.
At the moment I am sitting in front of the computer eating potatoechips and drinking applejuice to celebrate my little victory.

4 plates soon to come with a mixed grip and chalk.
