Except in my case the surgeons decided to have one extra surgery as my sytem was too close to shuting down. So they spiltted what is described inone step in this link in two. And then I had anpther extra surgery because of an ileus 4 days after the first one.
So in August 07 my colon was removed and the end of my small intestities was pulled through a hole in the abdominal wall. So the last 2-3 cm of my small inestities are on the outside of my body. To this you attach a bag becasue otherways you would be constantlly covered in poo.
then in december 07 the pouch was created (like described in the link) and both ends were pulled through the hole. Again a bag attached to this is the only option.
and now in february 08 those two ends were connected and the hole in the abdominal wall was closed.
So since last wednesday everthing that belongs in the inside is inside and my body is completelly "closed" again.
Now it takes about 3 months before my abdominal wall is completelly healed up (the fascia takes the longest but as you can't see it you can only guess).

Actually it was four surgeries. The one 4 days after the first one because of the ileus was acutally a pretty big one as the small intestities already had a small hole in them from which stool was entering the inside of my body. But as this was not part of the planned process and becasue it was very close after the first schedulded surgery I don't really count this one.
But the ileus and becasue I had to be cut open twice within 4 days because of it and my overall very bad condition were the reasons why I spent so much time on ICU.

All in all I was about 12 hours under a general anaesthetic and spent about 10 weeks in hospital (+about 4 weeks of not being able to do anything and my mother cooking etc for me) over the last half year.

And you are right "you are full of shit" is actually a compliment for me now

Slowly but surely I start to realize how good things went this time. I still don't "trust" the new situation. But after so many dissapointments in the last couple of years that is normal. It will take quite some time until I really believe that is now really over. That there is not just another lowblow waiting.

Started taking the antibiotics to cure the gastritis today.
Will be on them for 7 days. I just hope they do the job and don't cause any problems.

The sickness is tolerable at the moment. I have quite some appetite and the bodyweight already seems to increase gradually.

Antibiotics may give you the runs man. My daughter has been on antibiotics for the better part of the last 3 weeks and has had some awesome explosive diarrhea.

I will only have to take the antibiotics for 7 days. So maybe I am lucky and it doesnt give me the runs.
