Graedy, awsome news on the weight gain! I am glad recovery is going well so far, and I look forward to you leaving me in the dust in 2008! (You are going to have to work your ass off to do it though hehe)

Incidentally, if training logs counted toward post counts, THIS would be my 5000th post on Sherdog for the black belt.
Hope you recover quickly brother.

Thx, guys.

The last couple of days I went for walks every day.

Today I rode the bicycle for the first time in ages again.
So lets go. Started out and got faster and faster up to quite a pace. Then noticed there is no way in hell I am able to keep this pace up. Then the wind started blowing righ into my face. And as a guy who is easily chalenged I wanted to show the wind who the boss is....
A short time later my legs, my head and my lungs were burning. But I was able to keep the speed high enough so I was still able to ride on without loosing balance (due to total stopage).
I was totally exhuasted at this point. But my next chalenge was just arround the corner. Another cyclist. Well, if you could call us that . The opponenet was chosen. About 80 years old, looking like he had been an alcolic for the most part of his life.
So started the "race". Must have looked like two turtles racing each other. But whatever. I passed by and in my book I won. I would even go this far to say that I completelly destroyed this old man in a race he didnt even know he was in.
But a victory is a victory, right?
So I rode on for another 5 minutes to underline my pure dominance and then sat down on one of the benches along the road. I sat there for a while, then the old man came up, also stopped, nodded and sat down on one of the benches and started smoking. Maybe I had been wrong before and the guy had been indeed fully into the race when it took place.
Whatever... the bigger the glory!
After a while I got up and slowly but surely cycled back home while being very happy that the wind was now blowing from behind.

Of course this was too much too soon. But now I know where I stand: Slightly better than an 80 year old alcoholic. - Could be worse

Do I remember correctly that swimming is on your list of allowed activities? Some good, long swims might not be a half bad way to keep your muscles in shape while you have to stay away from weights.

Either way, congratulations on your bicycle "race" victory. Here's to you being ready for next year's Tour de France.

Lol, yes

For swimming everything needs to heal up some more. And as there are currently some problems with the healingprocess (nothing bad) it will probably take some more weeks before I can swim. But I am definatelly looking forward to it. Always liked swimming and have quite a talent for it.
Today another bloodwork was done and I got an ironinjection (get those twice per week). The mainindicator for wether I am ready for the next surgery or not is the HB. Once its above 12 I can start thinking about getting cut open again. Above 14 would be best (but this might take too long as the regeneration process slows down the closer I get to normal).
My current bw is 73kg and I do now officially longer look like a castaway
Will do some more tour de franceing later today.
