Hexagon's strength log

Finally got around to creating a log. I've been keeping a log on my computer for the last 10 weeks while doing the 5x5 program. During this time I've been reading a lot of the logs on here and decided to create my own.

A little about me. I'm from Hollland (the Netherlands as it's officially called), I've been training for a number of years but just gotten serious about my strength training since a couple of months now. My gym has no powerrack nor a squat rack, so I finally decided, after months of frontsquats, to build my basement gym. So I get to do backsquats for the first time in years. Yay me.

My stats:
Age: 37
Height: 6'5"
weight: 230lbs

Maxes
Front squat : 110kg (242lbs)
Deadlift: 185kg (407lbs)
Bench: 115kg (253lbs)

My goal is to get stronger. And maybe compete in a strongman even in a year or two. I want to get my backsquat up to a decent level, say 150kg and get my deadlift up a bit also.

Deadlift

8 x 50kg
8 x 80 kg
5 x 110 kg
5 x 147,5
5 x 147,5
5 x 155 kg
5 x 160 kg
5 x 165 kg

Goodmornings

5 x 60kg
5 x 60kg
5 x 70 kg
5 x 70 kg

Cleans
3 x 5 x 60 kg

Pull ups

I did full cleans with a not too heavy weight, trying to work on my form. After the deadlift and goodmornings, they killed me anyways. In the last set my back just didn't felt like working with me anymore.

I'm doing pull ups or chin ups every work out, trying to get the numbers up.

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

I couldn't work out this morning because work is a bitch at this moment. I had to start early. It looks like the rest of this month training will be irregular at best.

Squat

8 x bar
8 x 40 kg
5 x 60 kg
5 x 80 kg
5 x 85 kg
5 x 90 kg
5 x 95 kg
5 x 100 kg

Front Squat
5 x 60 kg
5 x 70 kg
5 x 70 kg
5 x 75 kg

Pull up
2 x 6
1 x 7

Squats felt much better than last time. I had a lot more confidence, so form felt better automatically. Last time I had trouble going down deep enough especially on the first rep. This time much better. This made it feel a lot lighter too.

Front squats went very good. A little heavier next time? Yep!

Awesome workout tonight.
