Over the past couple weeks I've done a good bit of BJJ, until I hurt my knee trying to roll out of a heel hook. I have rolled a few times since and went to kickboxing once. Today is the first time I've lifted since though.

Let's hope for no more injuries anytime soon. It barely hurt today when lifting, which is better than when I limped for a few days.

Sorry about the long time between entries. Between summer class, training, and trying to keep the minimal social life I have, I don't really get on the computer as often as I used to.

7/28/08

Muay Thai: 1 hour

Mostly conditioning stuff. Ab work, pushup circuit, and speed kicks with thai pads.

BJJ: 1 hour

Working sweeps and passes from half guard.

BJJ: 1 hour

Free Roll. Getting better. I held top position of half guard against one of the better guys without being swept for once. He held me from passing, but I still didn't get swept for once.

Worked more half guard stuff. I'm lovin' it.

BJJ Free Roll: 2 hours

First hour I rolled Gi and the second I rolled No Gi. I ended up in a blue belts half guard after a scramble and almost was able to pass with one of the passes we learned. He held me, but also couldn't sweep me. I love these passes. Hot damn. Caught somebody in a peruvian neck tie too. While rolling no-gi I had a good rear naked choke in which I trapped the other guy's arm with my one hook. Otherwise, I got beat pretty good by the good dudes.

7/31/08

Muay Thai: 1 hour

Mad conditioning including 100 power kicks per side with thai pads, body weight circuits, and then more random conditioning.

Advanced Muay Thai: 20 minutes

I rolled my knee after about 20 minutes of timing. The pain is gone now, except when fully extending my leg. There is a rubbing feeling inside of it though, a slight one. I don't like that part at all.

These were some pretty good box squats. I am really getting the relax the hip flexors down, I believe. I had great speed up until about the 6th set. After that, the rest were as fast as I could go, but not nearly as fast as before.

Ab Circuit (washboards, leg raises, side crunches, medicine ball twisting sit ups)

Shadowbox 3 minutes x 3 (30 seconds in between rounds where I'd bounce the medicine ball against the wall above my head)


I've been super busy with school as of late, which is the norm. But, i just had my final yesterday in the last one for the summer. So I should have more time since classes don't start again until the 27th. And when those do start, I'm sure I'll have time like normal again, since I am just taking regular classes, not super fast paced summer ones.
