Nice work on the comp! You looked like a seasoned vet.

What rack did you end up buying?

Thanks!

I ended up getting the heavy duty TDS one from new york barbell. I also bought the TDS high/low pulley machine, which I kind of wish I didn't buy because I don't really need it that badly, and this thing doesn't seem all that great quality. Oh well, it's a good thing to have I suppose. I could have used that $300 and bought a damn log though.

Haha, I know. I used to follow the precision nutrition guidelines pretty well. Now I cheat a lot. I need to get back into the swing of things as I am in terrible condition at the moment.

Wed 7/11

More band traction and foam roller. Going to try to do this stuff 4 - 5 times a week as it really does help my back.

Bike for 10 minutes

sled dragging.
I went, then my friend went, then me, etc. without rest

backward
2 plates x 100 feet for 3 trips

Few minutes of rest.

forward
2 plates x 100 feet for 6 trips

Few minutes of rest

2 plates x 200 feet

Thurs july 12th

band traction/foam roller. other band stuff

2" axle clean and trying to jerk (clean first rep)
110 x 5
110 x 5
160 x 3
180 x 1
200 x 3, missed fourth.
200 x 3
Video of both 200 sets - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsywqbEA9r4

-I think I'm going to start using my old crappy belt when doing these. The new one is too big and bulky. I hit the belt on the first set of 200 trying to clean it and almost dropped it.

Close grip bench
135 x 5
185 x 5
Tried to do 195, but my smart friend put too much weight on one side so I only did two.
195 x 4, same friend's sweat dripped into my eye in the middle of the 4th rep.
185 x 6
-Called it there. Nothing was going right for them... haha

Pull ups
10
8
8

Mini band piston press downs
30 reps per arm

monster mini band face pulls
1 set of 30

Sat 7/14

My shoulders are pretty sore today. I also rolled over onto my stomach while sleeping last night again and my back was really bothering me when I woke up. So I took a decent amount of time on the foam roller and doing band traction today. Stupid back. I really wish I had 2,000 to throw down on a reverse hyper.

Overhead squats
bar x 5
65 x 5
95 x 5
115 x 5
135 x 5...way unstable because of my shoulders being sore
135 x 5...same, almost dumped the 4th rep
135 x 5
-I was planning on going heavier on these, but there's always next time.

farmer deadlift
135 per hand x 5
185 per hand x 3
225 per hand x 3
275 per hand x 5....Added belt. felt harder than I thought it would have.
-Next contest I'm doing has a car deadlift in it. Don't know the weights, but I'm hoping that it will be side handle and that these will have at least a little carry over to them.

Cleaned the keg a few times

Shouldered the sandbag a few times

Seated row superset with hanging leg raises (from pull up bar)
140 x 10 / 10
140 x 10 / 10
140 x 10 / 10
-I have to keep my legs bent a decent amount now since I hurt my back. I used to be able to have them fully extended and pull them up pretty high. Arg

Ab wheel
from knees x 5 and called it there because it bothered my elbow for some reason.

Sunday 7/15

-Hellooooooooooo lactic acid

Amazing job with the contest. You seem to be hitting stride with your training and what you need to do to place better. Good luck with nationals.

Thank you. Sometimes I look at my training and just say WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING? But then most of the time I feel like just doing whatever I feel like doing, and going by feel actually works better for me than getting myself into a set routine.

Mon 7/16

My back actually felt pretty decent this morning, surprisingly.

Wanted to do some technique work on jerks and some extra upper back and tri work. Gonna see how this goes and do this every monday again if I can. At least until school starts back up again.

Axle jerks out of the rack
110 for 4 sets of 2
130 for 4 sets of 2
160 for 2 sets of 2
-30 - 45 seconds rest

suspended push ups with a pause
15
12
10 i think?

Lat pull downs
4 sets of 10
-feels awkward on this crappy thing I bought.

face pulls
2 crappy sets of 10

tri pressdowns
tried to do a set of 10.... crap

-A side note to anyone that happens to read all the crap I write in here--NEVER buy the low/high pulley from TDS/new york barbell. It's the biggest piece of crap waste of money ever. I can't explain why, the thing is just terrible. I wish I saved the 250 bucks and bought a log instead. Arg.

Fat man pullups using the axle
3 sets of 10
