I'm sorry to say it bro, but I was laughing pretty hard at the crushing of your dick on the duck walk . That got me to actually LOL.
Great job though man, how did Dunk end up doing? I didn't know there was a contest on the 16th in Jersey, I have to look in to this.
Hudson Valley was fucking heavy, so great job just getting out there man. Many congrats.

Welcome to my world. It's gotta be mental.

Thanks guys.
Kurt--it's definitely mental. Dunk said to me today that he thinks I mess up on a lot of stuff in contests because I let it get to me too much. I am also a very negative person (when it comes to myself) which doesn't help the matter much. My friend that came with us kept yelling at me because it seemed like every 2 minutes I was saying that I suck and this or that is gonna be really hard, etc etc etc.
Dan--Dunk absolutely SMOKED the 600 frame in his class. Mostly everyone struggled with it and he picked it up and went the 70 feet in like 14 seconds, getting first there. He kinda messed up on the yoke because he put it down like 3 times when he has done the 680 yoke easily many many times for 50-80 feet (sometimes without a belt.) He bombed the overhead event again though and really needs to work on that. He struggled with loading the duck walk implements too and was burnt by the time the stones came and couldn't quite get the 310 stone up onto the platform.
Definitely check out the Jersey contest. The weights aren't too crazy and with a few more weeks of training you should be good to go. http://nastrongmaninc.com/pdf/entries/pyramid.pdf

I do the same kinds of things. For me, though, it's always at the beginning of contests when I'm super tense. Once I get going, I start to perform a lot better. By the time the last event rolls around, I wish that I could start over from the beginning.
Have you looked into any books on sports psychology? Could be helpful. I read one once and didn't get a whole lot out of it, but if you do a search on Amazon, many of them are well reviewed.

here's the video YouTube - Greg Hudson Valley 2008
I'm really surprised I was able to even get the first duckwalk implement onto the platform considering how far away I was from getting it on the first few attempts. I really hate being so short. Some of the guys doing this event were running and when they got to the platform, they barely had to lean back at all and the implement would just slide right on. I was very jealous.

That yoke was fucking HUGE! I'm assuming on the duck walk you couldn't grab underneath the weights, right? Still a great job dude, you looked like you were going to punch a hole through someone's head after that 310 stone. Was the stone dusty or new?
EDIT: And how the fuck did you get your whole contest up there? I've been trying to do mine and it keeps just uploading the medley.

The stones were a bit dirty, but not terrible. I honestly don't know what happened on them. I think it's just a lack of training heavy stones for a long time. When Iron Island was still an awesome gym, I was training with 300 and 330lbs stones at least 2 times a month. Me and dunk have been talking and we may move our stone platform (and get another set of skids to make it longer) to his house with our shitty stones, and then get or make more so we have a bunch to train with. It'll work out good cuz I literally cant fit anything else in my garage and getting rid of the stones and platform will make a ton of room.
I just put each of my events into windows movie maker (you should have it if you have windows xp) and then saved them into 1 movie file. The program is pretty self explanatory and takes like 5 minutes to do that. If you are having trouble maybe try uploading each event into a website like MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service and I'll download them and put them all together and send it back for you.

How much do stones cost? I would LOVE to get/make some stones but I have no where to keep them or even load them really. How far does Dunk live away from you?
