Alright, I just ordered some. I'm not sure how I didn't think of this before today, but it dawned on me while at the gym. I just hope it gets here by Friday.

Tuesday 5/20

Felt terrible and groggy all day. I barely left the couch at all and kept putting off working out. Finally forced myself to get up around 4:00. Headed down to the dreaded Synergy to workout because it was pouring and I didn't feel like pulling everything out of the garage into the rain. Between not having to pay to workout, and the girls, it was worth it. That's the one thing I miss about going to this stupid place

warm up at home

front squats
95 x 5
135 x 5
185 x 5
235 x 3
285 x 1 felt heavy
285 x 1
305 x 1
305 x 1
325 x 2 PR (belt)
275 x 5
-the bars at synergy felt much more comfortable for front squats than my bar

back squats (very close stance ATG)
225 x 10
275 x 5
315 x 5

Stiff leg deadlifts
275 x 10
365 x 6
325 x 5
-was planning on going heavier on these but the 365 set toasted my back for some reason today

Stood around contemplating if I should do abs or not for like 10 minutes but decided against it because the stupid gym was so packed and everyone was already staring at me as it was. I will do them in the morning and hit up some burpees or sled.

Gonna go down to jersey with dunk on saturday to watch him compete so I won't be hitting events then. Friday I'm gonna probably do some farmer picks/holds, rows, and shrugs.

I wound up sleeping late and then being lazy and not doing abs and burpees on wednesday. Oh well.

Friday 5/23 - Back and legs are still sore from tuesday....

Warm up

Sled
2 plates x 200 feet for a few sets switching forward and backward

farmers
135 x 100 feet with a turn
225 x 80 feet - slow and felt heavy
225 x 80 feet
245 x 80 feet + hold
255 x 80 feet + hold
185 x 50+ feet (carrying them back)
-my grip felt strong today. I wish i just went heavier instead of doing a few lighter sets + holds.

Bent over rows
135 x 15
205 x 8
225 x 8
245 x 8
245 x 8
205 x 12

Barbell curls
115 x 8
115 x 8

Wrist curls

Was going to do either shrugs or stones, but my back felt beat up again so I skipped them. I may make an appointment with the ART doctor again sometime next week. I haven't really been in any pain lately like I was, but my back has been randomly getting stiff and tired lately, even just moving some boxes at work.

I'm gonna say that later tonight I'm gonna do abs + burpees again. Hopefully this time I won't be lazy. I'm also going to say that I'm finally gonna fill those two empty kegs I have on sunday, and hope I won't be lazy with that either.

Nice workout man. By the way I just got the tacky in the mail, thanks for the suggestion of Jackal's.

So tomorrow, how do they run this, do the HW/LW/open/novice all go at the same time? I wouldn't mind watching Dunk while I was waiting around.

Most contests run two people at a time. It'll probably be something like masters/heavies on one side, and novice/lightweights on the other.

They never posted the competitor's list, either. It would have been on the anvil message board right?

Not everyone posts competitors lists. I don't think the promoter of this contest even posts on the anvil. Originally I thought Keller (the NJ state chair) was running this event, or helping out with it and he normally posts the list a few days before, but now I don't think he's involved in it.

round 2

stretching, pvc, traction

1 legged sit ups
2 sets of 10 per leg
-I hooked one leg under my couch and had the other leg above the couch (not touching it.) I felt these in my abs a lot more than doing it on a decline bench and only hooking 1 leg

Couple sets of planks and side planks

100 burpees in 6:25 (23 second PR)
