Hey Greg, there's a thread over at Marunde's website saying how good that World's is for strongman stuff. They say the guy Kenny is really cool and knows what he's doing. I may jus sign up for 3 months to play around with it. When do you plan on going down there?

I got a week's pass and haven't used it because I've been sick and working a lot. It expires tomorrow so I'm probably going to try to get there tomorrow and see how it goes.
I'm Dan Fennessey by the way, you probably figured that out now though lol.

Saturday 3/1
warm up
Farmers
135 per hand x 50 feet
225 per hand x 50 feet
275 per hand x 50 feet
295 per hand x like 47 friggen feet. PR with these handles but I'm pissed because of my stupid monkey paw thumbless grip that I have to do because my ass is so fat that my thumbs just rub on my legs if I try to wrap my thumb around the handles. Also tweaked my back slightly on this set. Ugh have to work through it....
18" deadlift
225 x 5
315 x 5
405 x 3
495 x 1
545 x 1
605 x 1...PR
Medley
315, 405, 495, missed 585 ARG. Got pissed...walked to the front of the garage and back, restrapped up and pulled 585 for a double
Yoke
630 x ~35 feet. SO PISSED after this. It must be the 483rd time that I've done 630 for around 30 feet before I drop it.
630 x ~10 feet and I turned 90+ degrees for reasons unkown
Very angry at this point so I decide to put 550 on the yoke and walk as far as I can. Made it about 10 feet before I felt like dying because I was so spent.
I am absolutely toasted right now and everything hurts, but now I rest for the next week thankfully. I really need it as I've been feeling beat up all week. Viking fest in one week, I'm excited and nervous at the same time. It's the heaviest contest I've ever done, especially considering I couldn't even really train for any of the events other than kinda simulating the keg deadlift with 18" deadlifts. We'll see what happens.
I have been stuffing my face lately... weighing in at a very bloated 192 this morning. Considering I'll have a few meals in me before weigh ins and will have my clothes on, I won't be surprised if I weigh in at almost 200lbs. Damn. After viking fest I am going to start doing conditioning and eating better and possibly some light running (if my 90000 year old body allows me to) or eliptical work. I'm really tired of being like 50% bodyfat. It doesn't help me for anything except continental cleans, and I was able to clean the same when I was a lot leaner, so whatever.

It's a tough thing, especially when you have to watch your friend train.
