That's sick man. Good luck with it. There are no contests anywhere near here anytime soon, but I need to get my strength up and actually do some contest training. I'm still working on getting a tire.

We hit events on saturdays. You're welcome to come down. I have farmers handles, a yoke, a sled, three stones + adjustable platform, a "550" tire (light but it's the toughest flip I've ever seen on a lighter tire) a 12" log, 2" axle, etc etc etc

Tuesday 2/19

Warm up

oly squats
95 x 10
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 3
275 x 1
305 x 1
335 x 1
(belt for rest)
355 x 1
375 x 1 PR
345 x 2
315 x 8
300 x 10 (pretty tired at this point, not much rest between the last couple sets)

295 x 10
365 x 10
405 x 10
455 x 6
455 x 6
405 x 10

Got the urge to do front squats (no belt)
135 x 5
225 x 3
275 x 3
225 x 10...it was a joke. I can do way more than 10.

Andy contributed more stuff to the garage today and showed up with six 10 pound plates. So I pinch gripped four 10's with each hand a couple times and failed with five 10's with each hand.

Thursday 2/21

My legs and mid back are sore as hell and my traps feel like they were stabbed repeatedly with a steak knife

Warm up

12" log
95 x 10 (first 5 strict)
145 x 10 (first 5 strict)
165 x 3
195 x 1.... great, terrible leg drive again
195 x 1.... same
215 x 1.... even worse
235 x 0!!!!!!!!! I pushed too far forward causing me to lose balance, plus my right arm wasn't fully locked out which caused me to drop the log on my friggen head.
235 x 0 again. Mental reasons

screw this

axle out of the rack
180 x 1
200 x 1 - ouch. elbows and biceps hurt as I'm lowering the bar
220 x 1
240 x 4 misses!!!!!!!!!! and now my biceps and elbows are really bothering me

very angry

close grip bench
185 x 5...ouch
225 x 1
225 x 2, the 2nd rep was hard and my elbows were flaring out like mad because they were bothering me. Great

Just stopped there..... very angry right now.

Just the thing I needed. I've said recently how I'm having bad thoughts about dropping the stone on my head at viking fest, and 2 weeks before the contest I drop a 235 log on my head.

Haven't had a bad workout in a while so I guess I shouldn't be too mad. I like all the volume I've been doing on squats and stuff, I just wish I could do something about being so sore on my heavy upper body day.

I had a bad workout a few weeks ago. Possibly the most shitty feeling in the world, but gives you some crazy motivation for the next time you lift.

Saturday 2/23

Warm up

Deadlifts standing on two bumper plates
135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 3
405 x 1
435 x 0. My hips raised really fast, then a little off the ground my left hip shifted again so I dropped it. I don't know why this keeps happening.

Took the plates away
435 x 1
405 x 2

Backward sled drag
up to 6 plates x 50 feet backwards
7 plates x 50 feet forward
-Stopped there because I had a terrible stomach ache and had to take a bathroom break

Stones
260 x 3 to 60"
260 x 2 to 60" (missed the second rep, got it on the third)
260 x 3 to 60"? (did I do this set. My memory has been shot lately)
Broke the "340" off the ground a couple of times but was going no where with it again.
260 x 5 to 60"
260 x 20 squats. I suck and had to put the stone down after the 12th rep, and after the 17th (or 16.5th) rep. I also tried to load the 20th to 48" but I missed it.

Pretty easy day. I'm probably going to go easy again on tuesday so I have a decent overhead day on thursday. Then hit a heavy events day next saturday, then it's a week off before viking fest.

Video of 260 x 5 to 60" - video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BhxNxUNUMM
Video of the stone squats - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx-pWoHpTE8
These sets took me a while.

You have to be about 5'4 or so? I probably have a foot on you lol.

Go check my log for a write up on the World gym, I want to get people's opinions on it because it seems like a real good deal.

So what.

You're strong as fuck.

Nice training this week, I don't know what's up with everyone's deads, but no one is happy with them this week LOL. Keep up the training. Want to come to Chicago area for Chicago's strongest in April? Should be a good contest. No spots left, but I'll be there cheering everyone on.
