I don't walk around at 190 though. I walk around normally at 180 on the nose (at least for the last few months or so), so it's not like that would have helped me at all. I was just super super super bloated from all of the crap I ate. I swell up like a tampon in water from just looking at crap food.

Glad to see you started a log dude. Good luck with the goals. I highly recommend you get an MRI done. From what you described that's exactly how it sounded when I tore my meniscus in the knee. Loud pop and then pain. To my friend at the time it sounded like either a torn tendon/ligament. it was loud. So I am bit worried for you. You definitely dont want to make things worse by lifting with a ruptured disc.

Thanks. My doctor wasn't positive it was a ruptured disc, it was just an idea. I think that if it was a ruptured disc I'd still be in pain, or at least discomfort.

I sent in the story of what happened (the exact same thing I told to my doctor) into elitefts to the rehab section, and the guy who responded said it sounded like I sprained my sacroiliac joint and to just keep icing it and if need be, get ART done on it. I kind of trust what the guys from elitefts say since they are sports doctors, and my guy is just a normal doctor to go to when you have sore throat that has probably never exercised a day in his life.

Thursday 6/14

Left elbow/bicep is still bothering me a bit...

warm up...band stuff. bike for 5 minutes

axle press out of the rack
110 x 5 strict
130 x 3 strict...amazing how much harder it is to press with an axle. I strict pressed 165 with a barbell easier than this set of 130 last week.
160 x 1 WOW...not explosive at all...very little leg drive
180 x 1 (added wrist wraps) a little bit better than the 160, but still no explosiveness at all..
200 x 1...crap
200 x 1
200 x 2
180 x 4...failed 5th
-I was going to start 3x3 on overhead today and was planning on doing an easy 200 for 3x3 and then trying for 210 3x3 next week.... but I wasn't even close. My form was way off and everything felt heavy.

incline dumbbell
60s x 15...bothered my elbow
70s x 10...still bothered. Not going heavier.
50s x 15

dumbbell kroc rows
70 x 10 per side. This REALLY bothered my elbow/bicep so I called it there.

Didn't even bother trying to do dumbbell tri extensions

Face pulls
110 x 20
130 x 15
130 x 15
80 x 30...rest like 20 seconds...80 x 20
(100 total reps...don't ask me why I wanted to do 100)

Tri press downs
1 set of 50.

Time for lots of ice and to eat hamburger helper made with extra lean beef, corn and brown rice instead of the pasta.

Cissus is wonderful...

Concerning your back, if this keeps up, look into prolotherapy. Prolo fixed my useless ankles, then my elbow tendonosis and now, I'm having it done on my back, as my disc issues have lingered a bit too long for my liking. I'm such a believer.

Awesome...thanks. I was about to order the cissus, but it's out of stock. I"ll keep checking back for when it comes back.

I'll look into prolotherapy if my back starts hurting again. It doesn't hurt right now...I am just really weak since I've hurt it.

I didn't workout on saturday because I went to jersey to cheer on my friends at central jersey's strongest man. I really wish I could have competed, and I almost just said screw it wheN i got there and went for it, but I held myself back from doing it which was a good thing. It was an awesome, but VERY long day. I left my house at 6:15am and didn't get home till after 10:30 at night. My friend dunk did pretty well for his first contest, hitting PR's on 3 out of the 5 events. Here's a video of him - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnPyPxv7-LI

Time to get my training back on track.

Monday 6/18

warm up...bike for 5 minutes. lots of foam rolling. I definitely needed it on my groin area because it was really tight.

Continuing with my warm up, I was gonna do overhead squats with just the bar for a few sets, but then kept going (still didn't go heavy)
45 x 10
45 x 10
65 x 5
85 x 5
95 x 5
115 x 5
-Called it there even though I could have kept going. First time doing these in a very long time. All sets were ass to the floor and a slight pause at the bottom.

Front squats
135 x 5
185 x 5
225 x 3...no strength here. This weight is normally a joke
225 x 3...same
225 x 3...same
-I have no strength in my legs at all

Romanian deadlifts
135 x 10
225 x 10
275 x 10
275 x 10
275 x 10
-Kept a tight arch in my back, making sure I felt it in my hams/glutes. Also only lowered the bar to just under my knee's and then pushed my hips through as fast as possible.

Decline sit ups (hook only 1 leg at a time)
10 right side, 10 left side
10 right side, 6 left side.
-I started to feel a weird sensation in my back where I hurt it and got nervous, which is why I only did 6 on that second set

Standing pull down abs
100 x 10
100 x 10
100 x 10

-I need my strength back please. I am terribly weak....those front squats were disgustingly horrible.

-Swimming later.

Custom Nutrition seems to run out of Cissus fairly often. You can also find it here and here.

Your buddy looked real good at the comp. Nice first go at it. Must have been cool to see Rob's axle first hand, too.
