Icon4 C.Beeby's Lifting Log (now with creative title) OPEN TO COMMENTS!

I'm a 16 year old white kid, and I'll be a Junior in High School in the Fall semester. I used to be about 5' 5" 160 pounds when I was in Middle School, which affected my confidence for a few years. Wrestling got me back into shape, and I plan to be healthy for the rest of my life.

My goals (long term):
-Get a few legit fights in me.
-Be deceptively strong.
-Get to a good weight with low BF.

My goals (short term):
-Find a stable MMA gym.
-Train consistently.

My goals (end of the year):

-Clean 135x5x5
-Be able to do a set of 50 strict pushups again. (easy, but annoying)
-Get up from 137 to 150 WITH LOW BF

6/23/07:

After feeling guilty for missing my Friday workout to go see 1408, this morning I went around with my mom's fiance getting things for my home gym: ab roller, sledgehammer, 2 big tires, chalk, and suppliments.

I got:
Muscletech naNO VapoR (I think it's based off a BB company, but GNC said that no-EXPLODE is known for giving heart troubles)
More Creatine (GNC brand)
Whey protein (GNC brand)

I was feeling sort of drained, didn't eat well early in the day which always makes me tired, but I wanted to see if naNO VapoR works. I took 1/4 scoop, because I didn't have any weights near me, but I wanted to see how it worked. Within 10 minutes I was telling my mom about how the only way to lose fat other than dieting was to do cardio, and that spot reduction doesn't really exist yadda yadda. I got REALLY pumped up, and did the following:

-40 sledgehammer swings each side, in sets of 10.
-40 angled pushups with my feet on the tires
-10 zercher-esque squats with the tire in the crook of my elbows
-10 zercher-esque deadlifts, same way
-10 overhead presses with the tire

Then I got bored...

I want to, but our coach is so obsessed with winning that it takes the fun out of it, because I wrestle at 125 and all 4 of our coaches are under 140 and enjoy kicking my ass, to the point where I'm not learning everything, and practice every day of the week from 3-7 sucks, and gets in the way of MMA

6/24/07:

I took naNO VapoR before the workout and I like its effects. At just a half scoop it makes me beastly just long enough to get through squats and deadlifts, but I'm changing my routine to what I posted, but had to change it so a buddy of mine could start lifting with me.

Squat: 145x5x5
warmup of 95x3 (felt I could do more, but working on depth)
Deadlift: 115x5x5
warmup of 95x3 (definitely can do more, but DL's are fairly new to me)
Pullups: BWx5x5
Bench: top 5 110
warmup of 95x3
Set 1: 90x5
Set 2: 95x5
Set 3: 100x5
Set 4: 105x~3.5 (bad form, stuck slightly)
Set 5: 110x0 (wasn't feeling it)
Angled Press: warmup of 45x5, controlled cadence
95x4x5 (failed on set 4 rep 3)
Row: 90x5x5 (felt like I could do a TON more, working on form)
Dips: BWx5x5

6/25/07:

Went in a little sore, it feels good to work through the discomfort. Took naNO.

Deadlift: 115x5x5
warmup of 95x3 (finally content with my form, so now I'm comfortable REALLY tapping into my 95%)
Good mornings: 95x3x5 (took a while to find the right weight, so next time I'll do them I'll start at that weight and find what my 95% is)
Dumbbell Shrugs: 80x3x5 (definitely could do more, but it's just a feeling out process atm, keeping form tight)
Reverse preacher curl: 30x3x8 (felt really shitty doing them, since its such a puny weight)

Ankle hurt cause I slammed it against a corner, didn't make me feel great. Didn't have time to take naNO, my brother wanted to leave early b/c it's his birthday.

Bench:
warmup of 95x3
Set 1: 85x5
Set 2: 90x5
Set 3: 95x5
Set 4: 100x4
Set 5: 105x0
pissed off because I suck.
SOHP: 60x5x5
Cable Cross-over: 50x3x5

Regardless of the coaches I think you should wrestle throughout high school and do MMA in the offseason. Wrestling allows you to compete against people you don't know on a regular basis which makes you mentally tougher. Just my 2 cents
