Bench day:

Warmup

Arm swings, light skipping etc

Floor Press, Index on the rings:

Bar * 10
154 * 10
176 * 5
198 * 5
220 * 5
245 * 5
265 * 5
285 * 5
308 * 6

Thoughts:
Lost my upper back tightness on rep 3 with 308, was wafty from then on. Entire upperbody was really stiff today, was struggling to touch the floor with my elbows, weight was fairly comfortable.

Mid board Press, Index on the rings
308 * 5
330 * 5
352 * 3
375 * 2 touched + 1 no touch

High Board Press, Pinky on the rings

375 * 5
400 * 6

Close Grip Floor Press, Index on smooth
220*16

Fat Man Rows
3*20

Stretching + recovery

Hamstrings, lower back, upperback

Overall:
Weights felt fine, reasonably light, I felt good, but as soon as I touched a weight I felt like stiffest, slowest man in the world.

Cardio: 30 minute walk around the hills.

The farmers had been muck spreading, this made for a wonderful bouquet of aromas. I walked passed a group of girls who stopped talking and stared as I walked passed them. They were totally checking out my glute development.

I was also singing Clutch's 'Willie Nelson' for 30 minutes straight, probably 80% outloud and the rest looking like I was muttering to myself.

In light of the fact I am on the Inglorious Benchers team, obviously named after the Tarrantino film, I thought I would share my Quentin Tarrantino story.

I was walking up Buchanan street in Glasgow, a small crowd was gathering at the top as it meets Sauchiehall street, it is a common meeting place, so it didn't strike me as unsual. I had business away at the top of sauchiehall so, I walked passed the crowd, paying little attention to it.

About an hour later, it was time for me to head home, I walked down Sauchiehall, seeing a huge congested crowd at the corner of, Sauchiehall and Buchanan, maybe a few thousand people. I needed to get passed them and wasn't intersted in ducking down one of the side streets, besides, I was planning to stop in the virgin megastore which is right on the corner, pick up a few dvds if they were on sale.

So I am politiley trying to get through this crowd, nobody is moving, so I start shoving through, I am getting pissed off at the general lack of consideration shown by these people, I have places to be, why are you all standing around getting in my way. I am fighting my way through a crowd that is at least 70 people deep in all directions, it is taking forever. Some kind of tape barrier is in my way now, what the hell is this noise, so I rip the barrier and push on.

All of a sudden, I am in a clear area, a couple of people wide, right at the entrance to the store, I turn to walk in and some clown has put a table up at the door blocking the way in. For fucks sake I mutter and turn round.

Right in front of me, is Quentin Tarrantino and a few bouncers who had trap definition that you could see through their suits. They just smiled, I laughed, and made my way through through the other side of the crowd. Once i was out the other side, I turned and looked back at the store. They had multiple 60 Ft high banners all around saying Tarrantino was here for a signing. I hadn't noticed this at all. I was probably in and around that area for almost an hour. I felt special that day.

Fin.

Cardio: 30 Minutes, walking in the rain is actually quite pleasant.

I saw two dogs in a field, one ripped a loud fart and the other looked at it with an expression that clearly said , 'Duuuuude'.

Smashius, praise science! The Sky gods have blessed you with a bounty of sport and vaguely half interesting documentaries presented in glorious high definition!

I went through the epg last night and spotted 6, count them, 6, high definition College football games on this weekend alone, they have all been selected for recording.

The other night I watched a documentary which seeked to answer the question, if a skydiver jumped out of a plane, without a parachute and landed on a see-saw, that was counterbalanced by a school girl, how long would the see saw have to be, in order to absorb the energy of him landing on it, without firing the girl into space.

It is vital for our society, that these questions be answered.

I realized I was singing 'Binge & Purge' out loud the other day in the gym, and was surrounded by little kids. Oops.
