I'm determined to be patient though. This is the first time I've really set definitive goals for pressing other than my goal for a 225 push press. Rather than "improve".

Also, I've told myself I am allowed to buy a few things if and when I hit these goals. And not a moment sooner.

What things you ask? A scottish rugby jersey, and a 24 can flat of the 355 ml sized red bulls. Odd? Maybe.

i can't even squat at all right now. first i fucked up my knee and now it finally feels okay again, i fucked my back up with a poorly planned DL session.

in fact, my ankle is so fucked, i couldn't front squat even if my back was okay.

so even if i was healthy, the last time i had a real squat workout was '07, or something similar. i'd be happy if i could rep 225.

zero might even heal up and snatch 185 before me.

/bitch /bitch /bitch

just so i can post something in my log, i might just chart all my active recovery instead of strength sessions.

morning stretch
morning contrast shower
foam roller
mid day hot bath + epsom salts
foam roller
night contrast shower
night stretch

..... my thunder has been stolen.

oh, but i did get my 36'' convict wrist wraps. shazam.

Mine is 245 also. I've always sucked SO bad at benching, so 245 to me was huge. I really want 315 by the end of the year, but I don't see it happening.

This week was supposed to be my big changing of the gears to break plateaus, heal up and get back to my endless strings of PRs.

I switched from 5x5 to GVT for a nice change of pace, so I can go back to the 5x5 once the GVT fizzles, but it hasn't been a good start.

Can't squat, or DL, but I can push and pull. I'm just about to scrap this week and start counting from next week, if I'm able to function.

High reps are hell, btw.

My BP jumped huge on the 5x5, but the problem was that the muscle grows so much faster than the joints so I got some wear and tear and lost the strength eventually.

I switched to more OHP because my shoulders were being killed from all the BP and that did work for a while until I got worn up from the OHPs and that has stagnated at 135-145x5x5 strict and never progressed.

I've been doing too much Jerks and OHP, so when I bench more my shoulders feel great.

I'm special that way.

Yeah, rest.

I'm going to a chiro sometime soon. Maybe that will fix it.

And if it does, I just have to not run back at the weights and hurt myself from being so happy to lift again. No need to do all this over again.
