I'm thinking that I am going to try to just get my hands under it and stand up and carry it that way. Like the way highland games guys carry the log before tossing it in the caber toss. It's heavy and very awkward so I don't see many people getting that far with it.

Here is a pic of the tree... http://www.marunde-muscle.com/forum/...tid=7600&stc=1

Also, luke I'm pretty sure luke is having a car deadlift now instead of a regular deadlift.

Is Luke the younger kid who was at the last contest I did in May? How the hell can you train for the tree carry, maybe just load the ****l log up and run for distance?

Yeah that's him. He's like 17 and a fucking beast. I dunno how/if I am gonna train for it.

That may be a good idea though. loading one end of the log up with 45's and carrying it. It's still not gonna be the same but at least it's something. maybe I will try it tomorrow. The tree is 315lbs though so it's gonna be hard no matter what considering it's long and there is nothing to grab onto.

He is the one putting on the show? I didn't know that, that's crazy. Yea that kid was really fucking strong, and if you looked at him you would never think he was either. He did awesome in the Body Goals competition.

Let me know how it goes with the log tomorrow, I'm curious.

Friday 7/18 Pull

Missed Friday's workout. I had no ride to the gym since my car was in the shop, but I decided to look at it as a blessing in disguise because my right shoulder and upper part of my back have been hurting. I have tried foam rolling my back but it hasn't helped, I may ice it today and then throw heat on just to see if that will work.

Squats today, I'll probably be bringing my camera to get some critiques, so please check back soon

Monday 7/21 Squat

Squats
45x5
95x5
135x5
155x5
205x5
235x5
255x5 My form felt good today, although I wasn't going as deep as I thought I was on the last set, which is usually never a problem I have, so it's not worrying me. I'm going to upload the video soon, so critiques are encouraged.

After squats my right shoulder and back were hurting again, so I was trying to figure out what to do. While thinking I threw in some curls

Curls in the squat rack (Olympic barbell)
45x8
65x8
95x5

Here I decided to try front squats, but when I racked the empty bar it aggravated my back pretty badly. I decided against them for obvious reasons.

Good Mornings
45x5
95x5
135x5 Kept these light so it didn't hurt my back, and kept my legs very straight to focus on my weak ass and hamstrings.

Squats actually felt very good. I think I found the balance between sitting back too far and not sitting back at all, just sitting down.

YouTube - squat form check

255x5. I really worked on pushing my hips back, instead of down. Any tips?

Those squats look good. The only thing I notice is when you hit that extra depth it looks like your lower back/spine is rounded and slips into flexion kinda. Read #1 on this link:

Other than that though they look really spot on.

Wednesday 7/23 Push

Pause bench press (1 second pause)
45x10
95x10
135x5
155x5
185x5
225x1
225x1
225x1
225x1

Dips
BWx5
BWx5
BWx5 I didn't want to add weight because I didn't want to hurt my shoulder even though it felt fine today.

Board Presses (2 boards from my gym, worked out to be right where my sticking point is)
135x5
185x5
225x1 Much harder than the full reps, so I guess that means it is right near my sticking point.

Seated DB OHP
60's x 8
70's x 5

Weighted plank
BW+45 for 45s. God damn do I suck at planks.
