It takes all this time - you only have 45 sec of video for your strongman, and only one event. You should fire whoever did the videoing. Anyway - nice job. It look easy.

That's the thing that is pissing me off. I have the whole video on my computer right now, but that small section is the only part that gets uploaded, and I tried it 3 times. Now that you brought that up, I'm going to try google video, I'll be back
EDIT: Fucking google video keeps saying your connection has timed out. I have no idea why this won't work. I'm attempting to upload it to Youtube again.
Also, thanks Chase.

Monday 7/14 Squat
Worked a lot Saturday and Sunday, barely anything all day both days and got shitty sleep. This led to my garbage workout.
Squats
45x5
95x5
135x5
185x5
225x5
135x10
135x10 I dropped down in weight because I felt like I wasn't sitting back far enough with 225 on my back. I hope it was just because I wasn't fresh or recovered today, but I'm not sure. With the 135 I felt pretty good, felt my hamstrings stretching and could squeeze my glutes at the bottom.
Good Mornings
135x5
185x2 Fucking upper back and right arm got a shooting pain through it, like I got stabbed. Called it a day on these.
Back extensions
BWx10
+45x10
+135x5
BW plank
1:00 (I suck at planks)
Crunches
Attempted crunches to see if I could pass a park ranger test my friend failed a few weeks ago, but I had no where to put my feet so I was sliding all over the place and got pissed off and called it quits.
I need to stop over analyzing minor form flaws. The next 2 weeks I will do the lift Ascendant suggested a few weeks back (essentially box squats, only sitting back more) to make sure I'm doing this right. I also need to take recovery more seriously and eat more, which goes hand in hand with my recovery. /rant

I agree. Although Ascendant's tips were obviously good, he may not realize how tall you are. Sitting ALL the way back at your height is gonna be extremely awkward and probably throw you off balance a bit OR make you lean all the way forward and just good morning the weight up. I think as long as you start the lift with pushing your hips back, that you shouldn't go too crazy trying to sit ALL the way back and then not adding weight because you don't feel like you're doing them right. 225 is MUCH lower than what you could handle with pretty good form, so there is no sense in using that weight as your work set... at least in my opinion.

No I agree. I am sitting back a little more now, but my problem is I'm generally uncomfortable while squatting. A lot of that also comes with my over analyzation of all these things I think. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to any type of athletics or competition. It usually helps me, but in certain situations it works against me. I need to stop thinking so much.

I'm going to disagre - yes you can make certain concessions or compromises with form, and no you don't have to sit all the way back, but Fenn's problem was that was wasn't getting to the point where he could activate his hammies. Unless he exaggerates the motion to some extent for a while he'll slip back to his default form as soon as the weight gets heavy, I guarantee it.
I think he'll see a good return on his investment once he develops his muscle memory a bit.

I tried a few squats at the gym the other day, and I think a big problem was I was still initiating the squat with my knees. I started doing it with my hips first and it seemed to be the 'happy medium' I was talking. I feel like I was over exaggerating the sitting back, if that makes sense at all.
Ascendant, I didn't mean any disrespect towards your advice by my post if that's how you took it, I meant it as I have OCD when it comes to perfection of form and all things related to athletics, and I need to stop harping on it as much basically.

Wednesday 7/16 Push
Working crazy hours at work this week and the next few weeks coming up, so the workouts might have to be a little lighter on assistance movements than I'd like.
DE bench press
155x3
155x3
155x3
155x3
155x3
155x3
155x3
155x3
Strict overhead press
45x5
95x5
135x5
165x3
190x0 tried 3 times, got it up past my head but the bar was coming forward each time.
I used the DE bench because I knew I wanted to max out on the overheads, and they took a little more out of me than I expected actually. Ehh, whatever. Zero, you are probably going to smoke me now in this overhead contest, I need to focus more on log work since I'm almost definitely doing this contest in August and my log presses aren't good. What were the stipulations again?

Thursday 7/17 Events
Log clean and presses
*strict presses*
90x5
110x5
140x5
*push presses*
160x3
190x2
Called it a day here. Shit sleep last night messed me up bad.
Farmer's deads (weight per hand)
110x3
160x3
260x1
Fuck. My new hours at work (not new necessarily, just have to be there later) are messing me up pretty bad. Good news is we are selling new food so I can eat healthy even while at work, which should work well for my recovery.
One of the events was a tree run or tree carry or something in August, is this just basically holding a tree for a certain distance? How can/should you hold it?
