I just went and signed up at a local gym for the summer (I just moved last week and I'm moving again in August). It's a decent gym with a decent weight room and a bunch of other stuff I never use. As of last year, they had one suitable location for squats, but no power cage. They did some renovations since then, so I ducked in real quick to see what was new after signing all their forms which will in no way stop me from suing should I die tragically in a stability-ball-related accident. Across the way, I think I see a power cage. Excitedly I run over, and as I draw near I realize ... it's a fackin' Shirley machine. Dejectedly, I find the same one squat rack from last year and go home to mope. The gym I just left had one power cage, and it was broken for a solid 6-week stretch, but I liked knowing it was there.

I'm starting Stronglifts on Sunday, with a Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday plan in mind. Should we forgo personal training logs for this log, or just put our squat work in here? Also, Captain, how often should we be testing our max?

Cool snow angel skull av, by the way.

I didn't have a shake after this workout as dinner was cooked so I was a little sore a couple days later.

I plan to get there w/ front squats, almost exclusively. I bailed a 385 front yesterday, but it felt doable in the near future.
Can you explain this for me? why no back squats?

Cheers

I'm just switching it up for a while. I'm making good gains on fronts right now, so I'm going to stick w/ 'em for a bit... nothing against back squats.

And we have a team av, courtesy of flak.

Okay, fair enough, I just interpreted it as the ONLY way you were going to get good at back squats.

I'm going to have to recruit your help for front squats as I cant seem to rack the bar do to flexibility issues (or I'm just dumb).

Cardio/Muscular endurance workout today worked on OH squat form, taking it as deep as possible:

45lb barx 15 repsx 6. short breaks between sets.
