Videos from Friday's group session thing:
Stonebreaker finally benches 225:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHdixKiAuIc
Stonebreaker is shown just out out of alignment his arms and/or shoulders and/or spine is, and then does some light squats:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJricmibWzc
I'm now left with a bit of a dilemma on the squats: do I keep my hands at the same place on the bar and just cope with having my arms at different angles, or do I keep the angle the same and place my left hand an inch or so further out than my right?
Bah.

October 9, 2007:
Warm-up: Row machine for 10 minutes at resistance 10 at c. 25 strokes/minute: 2026 meters.
Squat: Barx5. Right quad still pulling badly when I hit parallel or so. One light set to see how it was feeling, get a better idea of how I need to line up to keep the bar centered on my spine, and called it done.
OHP: Barx5, 65x5, 85x3, 105x2, 115x1, 135x1, 145x1 (+20 PR since an iffy 125 on 7/31/2007), 150x0, 150x0.
Push Press (here’s where it gets funny): 150x0, 150x0 (dropped with a resounding crash), 150x0.
Deadlift: 135x5, 185x5, 225x3, [add chalk & belt, switch to mixed grip] 295x1, 335x1. 365x1 (match old PR set 5/10/07), 385x0x2 (didn’t even budge it).
Total lift time: 82 minutes
Stretch: 10 minutes
Body weight: 209
Notes:
I have my annual week-long vacation coming up soon, so my plan was to max out this week, take next week off, and return to the gym on the 23rd or so. The pulled quad is making it unlikely that I’ll be able to test my max squat, barring a miraculous recover by Thursday. Deadlift stance didn’t seem to bother it, though. OHP has improved despite some rough spots for it on the Starting Strength beginner’s program. My deadlift, as suspected, hasn’t improved, but at least the lingering back soreness doesn’t seem to have made me any worse. I really thought I could get the 385; the 365 didn’t exactly fly off the floor, but it went up smoother and cleaner than my previous lifts at that weight. Perhaps I’ll get it next time.
The other conclusions to be drawn from today’s efforts are that my legs are still very weak and my push press technique SUCKS.

Nice lifting - especially considering your body is less than 100%
Thanks for the videos.
Lifting last Friday was a lot of fun - next time we can try to train a bit more efficiently.

There wasn't a whole lot of rhyme or reason to what we were doing then, we were on the bench trying to figure out what the heck JK was doing, and I just kind of tossed the 225 attempt in there. As noted earlier, I'm trying my maxes this week, and will probably see if I can't get 5 or 10 more pounds on the bench.

Looking like the answer there is "no." If I break 225, y'all will just have to take my word for it until I have both a spotter and a videographer handy again.
