7/21/08:
swam breastroke 4 miles
jogged back to house (.5 miles)
pushups, 60 sec rest - 25, 20, 8, 10
heavy grips 250 handgripper - 3x8 each hand, max closed holds (32 sec right hand, 18 sec left), 1x5 each hand

comments: i was going to do 4 sets of 25 push ups but my right shoulder cramped and that killed my numbers. just got the hand gripper today, was disappointed. figured it'd be harder. i can probably close the 300 and 350, but i don't have those yet.

7/22/08:
push ups, 50 sec rest - 10x10
high incline push ups, 30 sec rest - 3x5

comments: gonna cut out a few seconds of rest on the regular push ups every time, wanna get 100 push ups straight.

7/23/08:
skip rope (warm up) - 3 mins
weighted close grip chins (+35), 60 sec rest - 3x3, 2x1
squat jumps with log (6" diameter, ~120lbs), 30 sec rest - 5x5
heavy grips 250 - 5x5 each hand, superset left,right,left,right,etc

comments: the log squat jumps were fun, will definitely play with those more.

7/25/08:

Injury: So I had a nasty lat spasm (left side) yesterday, and know the whole left side of my torso hurts (traps, pecs, lats, delts, and just the bones/joints itself), hurts to even take a deep breath. I tried to do a push up this morning but that was definitely not a good idea. I've been rubbing the area in tiger balm and it's been getting a lot better, but I didn't work out yesterday or today. I probably won't tomorrow either, I'll see how that goes.

Vacation: I'm gonna be in Hawaii from the 28th till the 10th. I'll still be working out as consistently as I can, but I probably won't be able to update the log that often.

7/26/08:
morning:
1.7 mile run w/hills - ~16:00
push ups, 120 sec rest - 5x20, 36
afternoon:
pull ups (behind the neck) - 4x5, 3

comments: The results of my spasm are basically gone, didn't feel a thing with push ups, and the pull ups didn't feel bad when i did them behind the neck, so that's what I did. This was my last work out before leaving for Hawaii, I'll update as often as I can.
