7/18/08 - Friday - Sheiko #37 Week 2 Day 3

Squat:
235x4
280x4
325x3x2
350x3x6

Bench:
175x6
205x5
240x4x2
255x3x2
270x2x2
255x4
240x5
205x6
175x7

Squat:
255x3
315x3
350x2x4

GHR:
BW+25x6x5

DB Hammer Curl:
40'sx10x5

Time: 1:30

Had to work late on a Friday, didn't get to the gym until 6:30 and they closed at 8 so I had to hustle. I flew through everything, which made the down ladder of the bench a bit challenging. I'm feeling great and my lifts are already feeling much better. I have no idea why I ever stopped doing Sheiko when I always love the workouts when I'm doing them. ADD, I guess. Next week is the most challenging week of this prep cycle, so that should be a good time. I also plan to add deadlifts from boxes back in, but am sticking to my guns and scrapping deads to knees. Also, I plan to get back on a Sun-Tues-Thurs schedule, because everyone else in the world lifts on M-W-F apparently and I have to put up with too many d-bags.

Sunday - 7/20/08 - Sheiko #37 Week 3 Day 1

Weight: 227

Squat:
235x5
280x4
325x3x2
370x3x5

Bench:
175x5
205x4
240x3x2
270x3x5

Squat:
235x5
280x5
325x5x5

DB Bench:
90'sx10x5

DB Row:
90x10x5

Ab Wheel (from knees):
BWx15,11,12

Time: 2:10

Ugh, I lifted Friday night, so I had about 40 hours of rest in between training weeks instead of 72, so today sucked at first. I belted up for the 80%x3x5 squat sets. After that the caffeine kicked in, and the bench and second round of squats went awesome and felt very light. Just had to get my second wind. A long time ago I bought a pair of 2 meter knee wraps, to get free shipping if I remember, but I never tried them. Today I thought what the hell, and after the 325x5x5 sets I put the wraps on as tight as I could crank them and tried a single with 365. It came up so fast I lost my balance and had to shuffle around a bit. I could easily see getting 50 pounds out of them.

I've found that there can be a noticeable difference when you go from an evening session to a morning session two days later. Also, the third week of 37 is the first time during the cycle where you have to do an 80% triple.

7/21/08 - Monday - Recovery

Bike: 30 min
Every 5 minutes I jumped off and did 15 push-ups and 15 good morning with a light band.

Couldn't make it to the gym so I improvised something up.
