The "Don't call it a comeback" log.

After a hard year last year in combat sports I feel that I am 100% again. Last year I nursed a hurt knee, torn rotator cuff, a hurt elbow, and finally a broken hand. After a few months of rest, I feel that I'm 100% again and ready to proceed with my training. In January, with a broken hand, I won a Gold medal at the Texas State Winter Games in Judo. Since then I have done nothing but play World of Warcraft in my tighty whities. This log is my path back.

I've atrophied a lot, my first attempt at lifting, I squated 135lbs 1x8, 1x5, 1x3 and was sore for 6 days straight, so sore I couldn't walk down the stairs without severe pain.

Start of year numbers:
Deadlift: 1x5 (225lbs)
Squat: 1x5 (165lbs)
Bench: 1x5 (135 lbs)

March Numbers:
Deadlift: 1x5 (255lbs)
Squat: 1x2 (220lbs)
Bench: 1x5 (160lbs)

<- 4 Month Break:

YEAR END GOALS: - 1 Rep max:

Current Number Vs Goals:

Bench: 185 / 200
Squat ATG: 245 / 315
Deadlift: 315 / 405
Power Clean: 140 / 185

Other Strength
Pullups: 25 straight,
Pushups: 100 normal, 50 Divebomber, 50 Clap, (Straight)
Burpees: 100 straight

Sports:
  • Judo - Compete 5x (2 of 5)
  • Win 1st place 1x, (won first place on Jan 19 @ state winter games)
  • Brown belt (got yellow in dec)
  • BJJ - Compete 2x (1 gi, 1 no-gi)
  • Muay Thai - Start training 1x a week after hand heals (currently broken)
  • General - DUNK A BASKETBALL, 4.9s 40 yard dash,

2nd workout 6/30:

Note: Don't hate on my Complex, I'm rebuilding a shoulder and elbow.

ATG Back Squats:
1x10 (135)
1x5 (couldn't do 10)
1x5
1x5
1x5

Bench:
5x10 (105)

Deads: 1x10 (135) - Legs/butt too tired from squats.

Double Dumbell OHP - 3x10 (2x20lbs)

Complex: Tricep ext. / Curls, Close Grip Bench: 5x10 of each (30lbs)

Overall, I'd say this workout was "pretty femmy" but it's good to be back in the gym. I'll get back to heavy later!
