Derrick's get strong and beat ass log

ive given up track this year as a competitive sport and im doing jiujutsu/mma instead. the goal is to fight at 170 and win a lot. my first jiujutsu tournament is april 29th in seattle and ill probably be competing in the 159-171 weight class, unless by some freak accident i end up weighing 158 on the day (im not going to cut weight). ill compete no gi and gi, and im not sure if ill be a blue belt or a white belt. i should be ready for my blue belt in the next month, but my instructor might make me compete before he gives me one.

some stats:
Derrick Brito
weight: 160 + or - 3
height: 5'9-10"
deadlift: 335
squat: 235
bench: 205
powerclean: 205
100:11.3
40: <5

some preliminary goals:
deadlift 365
squat 275
bench over 200 again
powerclean over 200 again

Good luck with your program. I'm curious as to your terminology. What does 4s10r@152(?) mean?

feature boy has it right. i put question marks next to my weights because im combining kilo and lb plates. i put too much pressure on myself for sprinting, so i might go back to it next year, but more likely ill compete mma, since martial arts were my first love. ill still incorporate sprinting into my training, since i train sprinters and i love to sprint, but i probably wont compete.

10r@132 overhand deadlift
4s10r@172(?) overhand deadlift

this is still ridiculously easy, i thought it would be harder with the overhand grip.

i forgot to keep this updated, so ill update a bit here. i leave for the tournament in seattle on friday. i weighed between 166 and 168 now yesterday, which was a big shock to me. that means ill definately competing in the 158-171 class. im also about 14% bodyfat. i did my first boxing sparring session on monday and man did that wear me out. i think you can get away with inferior condition in jiujitsu, but not in boxing or judo.

Tuf luck at the tournament. I lost quite a few tournaments before actually winning. So don't lose hope! Congrats with your blue belt. How long have you been training?
