And by the way, I wouldn't call you "Old" Man Judo at 40, either. That's when my son will be going off to college and that's when I really plan to start living!

I stayed up too late last night watching TUF3. Woke up this morning not knowing what to do. I don't want to do squats today. I'll do that tomorrow. I think I'll probably do abs.
I missed not having judo last night. I'm never going to get any better at the rate I'm going. And, not doing any cross-training isn't helping me reach my ultimate goal. Plus, I'm not getting any younger. Wah, wah, wah. Poor me, lol.
I guess I'll just have to find a place for my bag at home and start using that, at least. Couldn't hurt. They have a night at the karate place I was going to where all they do is spar. Friday Fight Night. Despite the cheesy name, it was pretty good, and we would go pretty hard. Maybe I'll start going to that again, and just pay for one class a week.

Thanks for the nice comments Farmboy. Some how I missed what happened to judo. That bjj, sambo, judo place sounds pretty cool. Awesome work dude so far.
Get back in the dojo mate! Whether it's karate, judo, bjj, whatever. Go do it!

30lb DB Stability Ball OH Press 3X8
Cable Push-Downs (75lbs) 3X8

I was a little disappointed in my bench today. 215lbs felt really heavy. I feel like I'm getting stronger, but my numbers aren't necessarily going up, at least not for bench and squat is not going as well as I'd like, either. However, my deadlift seems to be making steady progression, which I guess is good.

Went to BJJ class at James Simrell MMA. We worked on two techniques for out of being mounted. On the first one, we worked on transitioning from a sweep into three different submissions: ankle lock, heel hook, and knee bar. In the first technique, you would bring one knee and then the other to your opponents backside, low to prevent them from hooking your leg with theirs. Then you push up on their mid-section, or grab and use their belt, and bridge to one side. This is where you transition to the submission. I'm doing a poor job of explaining the technique. I guess it's easier to picture it in my head than to put words to it.
Anyway, after working on those techniques for a while, we got to roll for a little. I rolled with the guy I was working with during the techniques. He was a white belt who'd been going there for a couple of months. Nice guy. I took the advice of some of the guys on the forums who said not to ask to roll with someone of higher rank. Maybe when I go back on Wednesday I'll be able to get my ass kicked by one of the blue belts there.
Also, Jim said I could come by tomorrow (Tuesday) night for the MMA class. I may just take him up on it if we get done working soon enough.

7:00am
The “exercise room” at the hotel I’m at sucks. I spent 20 minutes on the stationary bike on the speed interval setting. On well, hopefully we’ll get done working early enough so I can go to the MMA class. I got shitty sleep last night. The freakin’ refrigerator in the room is loud as fuck!
Anyway, there’s a Gold’s Gym close to here, so I can do my pull day tomorrow.
8:20am
Scrambled eggs
Small bowl of oatmeal
1 pint of 2% milk
Cup of fat free raspberry yogurt
1 capsule SAN Tight
1 gel-cap Omega-3 Complex
2 capsules Glucosamine/MSM
1 Mega Man Multi
11:45am
Detour Bar
12:40pm
Sushi:
1 piece of shrimp
2 pieces of eel
2 pieces of marbled tuna
2 pieces of yellow tail
2 pieces of salmon
½ of a Lobster Tango Roll
Cup of Green Tea
1 gel-cap Omega-3 Complex
2 capsules Glucosamine/MSM
1 Mega Man Multi
6:30-8:00pm
I made to the MMA class at Jim’s studio, and all I could think about was how crappy my stand-up has gotten. I’m either going to have to change my initial goal of training to the point where I could fight in an amateur MMA fight, or change the intensity and frequency of my training.
We worked the pads for a while, doing different combinations. Then I went two 3 minute rounds with a guy from the school. He was a tough dude, and caught me with some stuff. I caught him with a little, and a couple nice kicks to his mid-section.
I just need to work more stand-up. Maybe find a boxing place around Auburn. I don’t really want to go back to karate, because I keep feeling like the traditional stuff is a waste of time. Like the kata.
Anyway, I still hope to get to the gym in the morning, but we have to be at the client’s office earlier, so we’ll see.
Oh yah, I got a new rash guard there, too. It cost me 30 bucks, but I don’t mind spending the money, ‘cause Jim is really a good guy. Plus, this way I got to try the product on before I bought it. I’ve wanted to get a decent rash guard for a while, and I had some extra money, so there ya’ go.
8:15pm
3 tablets BCAA
8:30pm

Carrots
1 apple
1 banana
2 bottles of Diet Lipton Green Tea
