Catch Wrestling 101
The old one was was starting to bore me a bit, so I decided to start fresh.
Some minor notes:
Recently got a job at FedEx, loading trucks. The hours are from 11pm to 3:30am. This is messing with my sleep alot! On M-W-F I have class from 8:30am to 10:30am, and often I get home from work around 4am, leaving me with a few hours of sleep. T-Thurs. aren't as bad seeing as I have to be in school at 11am.
The good from FedEx is the lifting aspect. I am constantly lifting objects with different wieghts and sizes, which should help my grappling game. Also I am always having to using various grips and such, which should also carry over very well to my grappling game.
GNC is going well. We got a new store manager who had to clean the store out, because our previous manager didn't. We ended up finding a bunch of expired stuff, or items on the verge of expiring. I ended up taking a bunch of the stuff that was close to the EXP date. Got a decent load of your basic supplements. (Protein Powder, Rehydration Drinks, Multi-Vitamins,Protein Bars,etc).
Practice has been going extremely well. They recently started a childrens class at the time we usually do some live wrestling. So now we are cramped up on the smaller, more slippery mats. I know a few of the guys are going to switch days, and starting coming on Tues. and Thurs. besides the normal Mon. and Wed. The problem with that is I work on Tues. and Thurs. I am going to try and switch up days at work with someone, so I can wrestle with good guys though, plus I still have Saturdays, which is by far the best day out the week for good wrestling.
As far as actual practice goes, my turtle and leg lock game are getting pretty nice. I taught myself a new set up for leg locks, which has worked wonders for me. I have tapped everyone person I have tried it on. (This includes a few brown belts).
Although I am sure the set up isn't all that unique and is done by many others, I cant really describe it to well. I the guy is sitting indain style, tryong to provoke me to play in his guard, all I do is put my left foot inbetween his legs (usually very close to his right thigh, so I dont get leg locked myself) and then I swing my right foot over and end up straight in a knee bar, and can easily get heel hooks ,toe holds, and achilles locks from this postion also. I actually caught someone in a variation of this move , that I have never seen done before. I actaully had a knee bar, arm bar, and triangle all on one.
My turtle game is all about reverse cradles and headlocks. I cant stand being on my back, so I have had to make sure my turle game is on point. I now feel very comfortable playing in turtle. I hardly ever get RNC or subbed from being in turle these days.
Now one to conditioning and wieghtlifting. To keep it nice and simple, I do Gotch's Bible, Tabata, Bridge Work, and only use my Dumbbells and Heavy Bag as far as extra weight goes. I have beeb lifting wieghts for like to 5 years now, and must say, I feel better than ever off the heavy weights, and on the heavy bodywieght stuff. My body awarness is alot better, and I can honestly see a huge differene in my grappling.

(I have a jug with exactly 2.2 liters of water. I usually put sometime type of electrolyte drink in it, and right now I have some Accelerade in it. Try my best to drink a whole jug per day.)

Work wasn't half bad today. I actually didn't feel as awful as I usually do. Today I got some nice gloves and a wieghtlifting belt just for FedEx, which helped out big time. Plus the drink I made, did me very well, along with the water and zone bar for when I got hungry. Not a bad day at the job...plus I got a decent sweat in!

Okay I am switching back to the way I listed things in my previous journal. I cant stand listing or trying to remember what food I ate. If I feel awful, just assume I ate bad....

Practice was decent. There wasn't very many people, due to all the brown belts going to train with Royce Gracie for his upciming fight against Matt.
I did learn (or rather taught myself) another awesome move, from off my back (which I suck at...) Basically when the guy has side control on you, bridge and get a reverse double wrist lock. The snap your hips the opposite way you where bridging. I have gotten this to work against a purple belt, so this move does work very well.
-Leg lock set up
-Reverse Turle Triangle Choke (when the oppentant is turtled up)
-Turtle Cradle
-Turtle Head Lock
-Bridging Reverse DWL
Thats just a personal run down, of moves I need to work out and perfect, seeing as they are my bread and butter moves. I just made most of those names up, so sorry if you're reading this, and dont know what move I am trying to describe.

They canceled open mat time, on Mon. and Wed. due to the new kids class. So now I have to convince one of my work buds to swtich days with me so I can attend class on Tues. and Thurs.

I plan to work mega hard at work tonight (or rather this morning).

Accelerade/Water combo has been going well. Dont have to urinate so much, and actually feel like I am hydrated all throughout the day.
Been drink a lot of pineapple juice, for erm, certain reasons. Will see how that goes (lol).
