BTW Nice log, will be reading.
THANKS :-) Sorry about the understatement, I'm just naive.

My Dad has a Ph.D. in Physics, and he is a tough guy. My brother has a Ph.D. in civil engineering, and he runs triathlons and does lots of conditioning training. There are lots of geeks in these fields, but they are not all geeks.

I have a Ph.D. in computer science, and I would say that field takes home the geek award.

Good stuff, welcome. Is it just me, or are most serious strength trainees you know pretty fucking smart people? I never understood the meat head stereotype.

Have you ever been to a public gym? Curl monkeys = meat heads. The guy doing 225 for the past two years probably isn't a rocket scientist.

You have a good point, though. Smart people know how to lift. A little research goes a long way. Plus, you have to take out your fury from endless calculus problems on something, why not iron?
