Friday 7th March.

No Gi Class

Warmed up with calisthenics and jogging/sprints on the spot.

Started with pummelling in for double under hooks, stepping around to the side and then picking up taking down. Then did fire mans carry and then the fireman’s carry finishing with mounting and armbar.

Rolledx5 minute rounds

Saturday 8th March

Open Mat

Rolled for about 90 minutes with Dan, had a lots of trouble passing his guard. I showed him some stuff with the De La Riva guard a few months ago and he has picked it up really quick. Last 10 minutes or so were from standing at a high pace, lots of scrambling back to feet if we ended up in guard.

Friday 14th March

No Gi class

warmed up with 20 minutes of alternating 1 min of calistenics and 1 min of sprints/animal walks.

Covered some wrestling techniques, pumel inside for double under hooks and then drop down to double leg, or switch to a high crotch, both finishing in side control. Then covered hopping up to knee on chest and going for a kimura when they try to push your knee off their chest.

No sparring, started one round (from feet) and my partner hurt his elbow some how when i tried an armbar.

Saturday 15th March

6 weeks to next competiton at Seni so switched to SPP, based around Scott Sonnon's Charlie, Sierra, Tango protocal. I am a blue belt so fight 6 minute matches, last year to win you had to fight 3 fights (SSH is a small catagory so don't think they will be many more this year) so will use 18 minutes for Charlie and Tango and 3x6 minute rounds for sierra.

Medicine ball complex x 3

Charlie: 1 round starting on each minute for 18 minutes

3xsandbag cleans
6x24kg kettlebell jerks
9xSquats

Did 3 rounds but my technique on the cleans isn't good enough yetfor a work out like this where I need to do the exercise fast. Decided to swap out the jerks for push ups.

3xsandbag cleans
6xpush ups
9xSquats

14 rounds in the 15 minute, one round i didn't complete in the minute so rested the rest the next minute.

BJJ Class

Started the class with alternating 1 minute of drills and then swapping so the partner can drill. Did things like armbars, triangles, spinning round on a turtle opponent, standing up in guard and picking your partner up, etc probable did around 10 drills in total.

Covered attacks from the back, started with clock choke, crucifix and then an armbar.

Did 30 minutes of guard passing at the end.
