Wednesday 15th April

My instructor is preparing for an mma fight at the end of May, the assistant instructor will be doing a lot of work with him so he has asked that I teach the Monday and Wednesday Gi classes in the mean time.

Started with positional sparring to warm up, 2 minute rounds - one on top and one on bottom for mount, guard, 1/2 gaurd, side control and rear mount.

Worked on armbars, triangles and omaplattas and transitioning between the different subs. Finished the class with half an hour of guard passing drills, keeping people rotating through and trying to get them to work on the techniques we had just drilled.

Monday 27th and Wednesday 29th April

thought class, rolled a little bit as well.

Thursday 30th April

Open mat, drilled some moves I have bene wanting to work on: brabo choke and then transitioning to a reverse arm triangle, reverse arm triangle from side control, basic hook sweep from butterly fly gaurd and arm drag from butterfly guard when your opponent attempts to control your legs.

a couple of people are competing at the weekend so wanted to do some sparring from stand up at a fairly high pace, probably did 6-7 6 minute rounds in total with a fair rest in between.

Saturday 2nd May

One of the people competing on Sunday decided he wanted even more sparring, I thought he was a bit crazy with it being the day before the competition but then again in many ways he is only using the comp as practice for the right sort of mind set for a mma fight later this month. Did 4x6minute rounds with a fair rest in between. Worked on a few questions he had how to defend stuff that I go for.

I've got 2 exams for university on 5th June so and plan on competing on the 14th and maybe 28th no gi. Going to try and get as much training in as possible but Uni has to taking precedence and got to make time to teach as well. May is going to be a busy month!

Saturday 9th May

Did about 90 minutes of sparring with a couple of people for one of their up coming mma fights, rotated through so we did two 5 minute rounds and then had one round rest, covered clinich work without strikes, added in dirty boxing against the cage/wall, GNP from guard with the bottom person trying to get back to their feet and shoot boxing.

Really hard session physically, enjoyed it though.
