Bench Day
August 23/09
This week is going to be a bit of a transitional week for me, from three and a half months on SS to 5/3/1 next week so I thought I would work all 4 lifts seperate and add in a bit more volume to get me ready.
Warmup:
5 minutes rowing machine
5 minutes heavy bag
5 minutes upper body dynamic stretches
Bench Press:
20kg x 10
55kg x 5
60kg x 5
62.5kg x 5
60kg x 5 x 4
60kg x 3 (Failed on my 4th rep due to a form break and had to do the roll of shame, luckily I was the only one around!)
Dumbell Rows:
25kg's x 15 x 3 each arm
(This was my first time doing rows and damn do they take the breath out of you, felt awesome)
Overall Notes:
I walked into the gym feeling really sore and tired after what was my best squat day to date yesterday. My glutes and hamstrings were super sore and it killed my arch on the bench but after a few sets I got into it. The rows were awesome and I cant wait to do more of these, its such punishment, but in a good way, just like deadlifting. Two days off now and back to the gym on Wednesday for deadlifts.
