Absolutely. To be honest, the catalyst was seeing Blake pull 700 after he got one. That right there justified the purchase to me.
Now if I could just get it to work...
I watch that video for inspiration often. Of course, he's pulled 675 raw, as well, so he wasn't far off. I know he was having trouble w/ his suit at first, too, and it turned out to be too small. Mike Szudarek let him borrow his suit and helped him dial it in, which is what he's wearing for the 700 pull.
Did you see this one?

I'm going to call elitefts and see if I can get someone on the phone about the way it performed yesterday. I don't feel like it should have been THAT restrictive.
I don't know how he's pulling 675 from the floor now, he barely got the 700 18" at the Michigan Record Breakers, if I remember correctly.
What's a deadlift bar, and how does it help?
I refuse to be 100 pounds behind him in the deadlift.

Blake opened at 700 and jumped to 800 on his second attempt, which he missed. i know he had been hitting 750 in training and was pulling 655 from the floor right before that show. Plus, he's super fast off the floor, so the gap between an 18" and a full pull for him might not be what we're used to seeing.
As Donut mentioned, there's a lot of spring to a deadlift bar. Usually they're about 6" longer than a standard power bar. If you watch someone pull with one, you'll notice that they'll routinely get 2-3" before the weights even leave the floor.

Yeah that's right, I'd forgotten the numbers. It gets to me that I can pull significantly more from 18, and significantly less from the floor. I'm going to work on it.
Thanks for the info on the dl bar.
What's your dl at right now fatty?
